Read the Horrible Reason CNN Anchor Ask Michael Phelps Not to Carry In US Flag at Olympics

Screen Shot 2016-08-07 at 5.12.31 PMApparently, Mr. Phelps is too successful an athlete who has achieved too much and represents ‘white guilt.’ CNN Anchor Kamau Bell asked Michael Phelps to give up the honor of the carrying the US Flag into the Olympic ceremony to someone more representative of political correctness.

According to The Gateway Pundit:

Phelps is the most decorated Olympian of all time with 18 gold medals and 22 medals in total. Obviously, Phelps has worked very hard since his childhood to become the best in the world.

But effort and hard work means nothing in this day and age of political correctness.

Before the Olympics kicked off in Rio CNN anchor W. Kamau Bell asked Phelps to let a Muslim carry the US flag.

Via IJ Review:

“What I’m trying to say is that as far as America is concerned, you are a golden boy … literally. You getting the opportunity to carry the flag is like Michael Jordan getting a free pair of Nike sneakers.

You are both the living embodiment of the “honor” you are getting.

To put it another way, in the Make-Your-Own-Ice-Cream-Sundae-Bar of life, your sundae is lousy with hot fudge, butterscotch, strawberry sauce, whipped cream, nuts, sprinkles, extra scoops of ice cream, and so many Maraschino cherries that 5-year-old kids with mouthfuls of Maraschino cherries yell as you pass by, “THAT’S TOO MANY CHERRIES!”

And that’s why I would be proud of you for giving up your position to Ibtihaj Muhammad. Muhammad carrying the flag would be much bigger than your one moment.

It would be a symbol for our country in this moment when we are mostly known for one of the most contentious, controversial, scandal-ridden, hateful, xenophobic, jingoistic, and just generally unlikeable presidential elections in recent memory.

This is at a time when we could use some more symbols of unity and togetherness.”

It’s interesting that the Social Justice Warrior at CNN actually believed the request of Mr. Phelps. We used to be a society that favored accomplishment and achievement. Now, more and more, forces are aligning to push agendas over accomplishments.

Having watched Mr. Phelps walk into the stadium with the American Flag tells us that Mr. Phelps is less interested in appeasing special interests and instead representing mastery and accomplishment.

Doesn’t surprise me coming from cnn. I never watch that worthless station.

  • Verna S. Clancy

The one who earned it deserves to carry the flag. Bell was very wrong. Either the Olympics mean something, or they don’t. It isn’t a “feel good” thing.
