Last week, Sarah Sanders was ejected from the Red Hen restaurant by the establishment’s left-wing owners.
While Sarah Sanders handled the heat with all the grace and poise she usually does, there seems to be a very real threat emerging that is calling for drastic measures.
Now, a shocking report was just revealed regarding Sarah Sanders and her safety.
Sanders will be put under temporary secret service protection following a week where roving liberal mobs harassed female Trump administration officials at their homes and in restaurants.
Leading up to the incident, the restaurant owner supposedly conferred with staff about how they should handle Sarah Sanders’ presence in the restaurant.
Ultimately, they decided that due to “moral conviction”, they would not serve her.
Sanders complied with the owner’s request and even offered to pay for the meal she was in the middle of eating when asked to leave.
She was not charged, but quickly left following the hostile situation.
Now, Sanders will receive temporary secret service protection which is usually reserved for the first family and officials.
A representative from the secret service would not relay exact details regarding her protection due to safety regulations, but only commented, “For operational security purposes, the Secret Service does not comment on its protective operations.”
This incident was only the latest in a string of heckling or harassment of Trump administration officials.
It also kickstarted a national debate on civility in politics.
Many liberals argued that denying Sanders service was similar to the Supreme Court Case recently won where a baker was allowed to deny a gay couple service in the creation of their wedding Cake.
This was based solely on the premise that it was against the baker’s religion to encourage gay marriage.
But the owner of the Red Hen simply had a difference in political opinion, and decided to target Sarah Sanders as a result.
Criticism from both sides arose, starting with Sanders comments on her personal Twitter account:
“We are allowed to disagree, but we should be able to do so freely and without fear of harm. And this goes for all people regardless of politics. Some have chosen to push hate and vandalism against the restaurant that I was asked to leave from. A Hollywood actor publicly encouraged people to kidnap my children.”
For now, Sarah Sanders is safe under the protection of the Secret Service—but if political tensions continue to rise, more dangerous situations could be in the future.
Do you believe the owner of the Red Hen had any right to deny service to Sarah Sanders based only on her connection to Trump?
Do you think this situation was similar to the recent Supreme Court Case regarding the baker refusing service to a gay couple?
