Boston Globe URGES Clinton To Shut It Down

In a bold and surprising move by The Boston Globe on Wednesday, the paper issued a statement declaring that the Clintons should shut down their profitable global Clinton Foundation because it will be an enormous conflict of interest.

Although they demand the Clintons shut down the organization — and they should –they do however give credit to the foundation for its prosperous work around the world.

The Boston Globe explained:

Although the charity founded by former President Bill Clinton has done admirable work over the last 15 years, the Clinton Foundation is also clearly a liability for Hillary Clinton as she seeks the presidency.

The once-and-maybe-future first family will have plenty to keep them busy next year if Hillary Clinton defeats Donald Trump in November. The foundation should remove a political — and actual — distraction and stop accepting funding. If Clinton is elected, the foundation should be shut down.

Since its founding, the foundation has supported relief in Haiti, global health, and other good causes.  It also provided posts or paychecks for some members of the Clinton political team, like Cheryl Mills, Douglas Band, and Huma Abedin, and afforded the former president a platform and travel budget.

Many of the foundation’s donations come from overseas, including from foreign governments with troubling human rights records.

But as we’ve seen, the Clinton Foundation has also done horrible things like profiting  from natural disasters.  In 2010, following the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti, the Clinton Foundation became one of the leading organizations in charge of helping Haiti rebuild — but they also massively profited from the tragedy when they used the foundation to help extract gold from their mines.

The Boston Globe continued their statement by saying:

The inherent conflict of interest was obvious when Hillary Clinton became Secretary of State in 2009. She promised to maintain a separation between her official work and the foundation, but recently released emails written by staffers during her State Department tenure make clear that the supposed partition was far from impregnable.

That was bad enough at State; if the Clinton Foundation continues to cash checks from foreign governments and other individuals seeking to ingratiate themselves with a President Hillary Clinton, it would be unacceptable.

It is absolutely unacceptable.  Hillary Clinton is a proven liar many times over and there is no chance we can believe her word that she will separate herself from her own organization.  Hillary is a control freak.

The Boston Globe concluded:

Winding down the foundation, and transferring its assets to some other established charity, doesn’t have to hurt charitable efforts. If the foundation’s donors are truly motivated by altruism, and not by the lure of access to the Clintons, then surely they can find other ways to support the foundation’s goals.

And in four or eight years, the Clinton family could always form a new foundation and reestablish their charitable efforts. But as long as either of the Clintons is in public office, or actively seeking it, they should not operate a charity, too. The Clintons themselves seem to realize that.

“There’ll clearly be some changes in what the Clinton Foundation does and how we do it,” Bill Clinton said in June.  “We’ll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it.” Why wait?

The Clintons should move now to end donations to the foundation, and make plans to shut it down in November. Even if they’ve done nothing illegal, the foundation will always look too much like a conflict of interest for comfort.

The comment, “the foundation will always look too much like a conflict of interest for comfort,” is a bit of an understatement.  That conflict of interest is enormously uncomfortable and fraudulent because it’s been known to allow the Clintons to profit from tragedy.

What do you think?  Should Hillary Clinton dismember her foundation?

Scooby Doo Laugh ” He He He He He He “

  • David Stewart

If she doesn’t get the vote; she’ll have nothing to sell and the foundation will automatically self-destruct!

    • Dave G Marshall

You are so right. Money can be sent to the foundation from foreign interests but they would expect favors but as you mentioned, if she loses the election then the money stops coming in because she has nothing to bargain with and nothing to sell.

      • Cathy aka OldTxGal

US assets, such as uranium, weren’t hers to sell

  • Elaine

Clinton Foundation = biggest, most blatantly obvious money laundering scam ever.

  • stick

Forget the foundation, she’s the one who should be dismembered.

  • Crystal

The only thing prosperous about the Foundation, is the money it’s made for the Clintons… 10% for the charity, 90% for them!

  • BJ

The Boston Globe and Elizabeth Warren are going to suffer major embarrassments for supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton – as well they will, and should. Shame on them. It’s too late to redeem themselves.

  • Mike

Even shutting it down would not stop the pay for favors that the Clintons really enjoy. All that money, that’s what the Clintons live for and nothing will stop that from happening so shutting down the foundation would not stop the money from coming in, they would find another way to hide it so they don’t lose all that money over the years in office, something they would never make legitimately.

  • Evy

This She Devil will never shut down her Foundation and for the money that she gets, she’ll have to cough up favors to terrorist countries. If she doesn’t give them what they want, they might just kill her. Time will tell who she rewards for all those millions and probably billions she has received. .

They didn’t help the Haitians. They stole money from the donations.

  • Joseph Carrilho

“”What do you think? Should Hillary Clinton dismember her foundation?””

Hitlery needs to open wide and swallow herself. Bye, bye you old criminal.

  • rch1559

It would be hard to run a foundation from prison. Hillary for bribery and selling her office, and Bill for traveling abroad to engage in sex with minors. Chelsea for money laundering.

Haitians were robbed by these greedy bast*rds. They should be ashamed, but you would have to have a conscience to have shame.

    Today I
did a comparison of the Clinton Foundation and the
    Carter Foundation.

I created a comparison between the Carter Foundation and
the Clinton Foundation. There are some stark differences
in the way each spends money. If indeed the Clinton
Foundation has a mission the contribute to worldwide
organizations it is my belief that compared to Carter
    the Clinton Foundation falls short.

    Even
though the Clinton Foundation collected a lot more
money, the Carter Center spent a lot more on their
    global program accomplishments. Carter spent
$52,350,072.00 and Clinton spent $24,631,910.00. Carter
spent $27,718,162.00 more more on helping people than
    Clinton (schedule F).

    Compared
to the Carter Foundation the Clinton Foundation spent a
lot more on food, beverages and entertainment.

    Schedule
    G Part II Fundraising Events

    Clinton’s
gross receipt notation was $15,118,559 and they spent
$396,062 on food and beverages, plus $37,905 on
entertainment. The Carter Foundation spent $0.00.

Clinton Presidential Center named as a Program Service
    WHAT!?!?!?!

    Check
the box in the heading of Part III if Schedule O
(Form 990 or 990-EZ) contains any information
pertaining to this part. Part III requires reporting
    regarding the organization’s program service
accomplishments. A program service is an activity of
an organization that accomplishes its exempt
    purpose.

    I was
    surprised to see CLINTON
PRESIDENTIAL CENTER as one of the three largest
    program services. The Presidential
Center is a program service accomplishment? A program
service is an activity of an organization that
    accomplishes its exempt purpose.”

    On the
    Form 990 Part III –

    “Describe
the organization’s program service accomplishments for
each of its three largest program services, as measured
by expenses Section 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4)
organizations are required to report the amount of
grants and allocations to others, the total expenses, and
revenue, If any, for each program service reported”

    IRS
defines a Program Service – “Part III. Statement of
    Program Service Accomplishments

    Check
the box in the heading of Part III if Schedule O (Form
990 or 990-EZ) contains any information pertaining to
this part. Part III requires reporting regarding the
    organization’s program service accomplishments. A
program service is an activity of an organization that
    accomplishes its exempt purpose.”

    Management
    and general expenses were

    $12,010,365 for Clinton
    $6,780,850 for Carter

    The Clinton’s
can fly first class and have the foundation pay for it
but ex-President Carter doesn’t receive the same
    benefit.

    Building and Equipment ownership

    Clinton’s $130,247,599 buildings
    and $9,799,760 of equipment.

    Carter $16,938,552 buildings
    and $1,249,240 of equipment.

    Fundraising
    Activities —

    The
    Carter Foundation $8,693,778
    The
    Clinton Foundation $93,663,151

    Clinton
spent over 10 times more on fund raising than Carter.
Take NOTE — Over $91 million of Clinton’s fund
raising went to one company Community Counseling
Service Co., located in Philadelphia. I
tried to research Community Counseling Service Co but
could not find anything that matches what the Clinton
Foundation placed on the IRS Form.

    I did
start to wonder, compared to the Carter Foundation the
Clinton Foundation seems to have higher expenses. I give
up on trying to find if it is a blown out of proportion
affair and I now see why there is concern about the
    foundation.
