Republicans confirming Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court was one of Donald Trump’s signature victories as President.
And from that moment, Democrats vowed to remove Kavanaugh from the Supreme Court as an act of revenge.
Now they are making good on their word and Kavanaugh just got some really bad news about being thrown off the Supreme Court.
Democrats’ first plan to destroy Kavanaugh was using women to invent stories about how he engaged in extreme acts of sexual assault or misconduct against them when he was a teenager.
But these flimsy stories fell apart when an FBI investigation could not corroborate the details and the witnesses shifting stories convinced Republicans they were not credible accusers.
That left Democrats hunting around for a plan ‘B’.
And now that they are safely the majority in the House, leading Democrats believe they’ve found it.
Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee are itching to open an impeachment investigation against Judge Kavanaugh based on the absurd allegation that he perjured himself during his confirmation hearing.
Colorado Democrat Joe Neguse – who sits on the House Judiciary Committee – let the cat out of the bag during a town hall meeting with his constituents.
“There’s no question [Kavanaugh] committed perjury during the confirmation hearings and so forth,” Neguse told an attendee who asked him if Kavanaugh would be impeached. “I think the Judiciary Committee is likely to take that up.”
The Democrats believe Kavanaugh perjured himself about what certain inside jokes written in his high school year book meant, and how much he drank during high school and college.
But their biggest claim that Kavanaugh lied under oath concerned a false allegation by NBC News that Kavanaugh falsely testified about when he learned of Deborah Ramirez’s allegations.
Ramirez claimed – without citing evidence – that Kavanaugh exposed himself to her in a drunken episode at a party during their freshmen year of college at Yale.
During his second confirmation hearing, Kavanaugh said he learned of her accusation from The New Yorker.
Democrats pounced and said that was a lie because Kavanaugh and former classmates had been sending text messages about Ramirez and her claims before the hearing.
However, Kavanaugh informed Senate investigators before the hearing that he heard about Ramirez’s accusations from classmates whom Ramirez had contacted in hopes they could corroborate her story for the New York Times.
“They couldn’t — the New York Times couldn’t corroborate this story and found that she was calling around to classmates trying to see if they remembered it. And I, at least — and I, myself, heard about that, that she was doing that. And you know, that just strikes me as, you know, what is going on here? When someone is calling around to try to refresh other people, is that what’s going on? What’s going on with that? That doesn’t sound — that doesn’t sound good to me. It doesn’t sound fair. It doesn’t sound proper. It sounds like an orchestrated hit to take me out. That’s what it sounds like,” Kavanaugh told investigators.
In addition, the New Yorker article stated Kavanaugh declined comment.
So he clearly knew about Ramirez’s allegations before the New Yorker published their article.
A Judiciary Committee investigation over perjury charges is the latest Democrat fever dream to remove Kavanaugh from the bench and undo any consequences of Donald Trump winning the 2016 election.
