Every social media feed in the nation has been set on fire with the outrage of millions over the killing of Cecil the Lion by a Florida dentist recently. If you haven’t seen it, there’s a good chance you’ve been on a social media hiatus.
As the dentist and erstwhile lion hunter has had to go into hiding as the result of all the death threats he has received, as his home is vandalized and his office has become a makeshift memorial where concerned lion lovers lay their offerings, some people have begun to ask: where’s all the outrage for the millions of babies who are killed in abortions?
The relative silence in the wake of the release of several hidden camera videos showing that Planned Parenthood engages in the sale of fetal body parts for profit has been deafening.
Fox News radio host Todd Starnes joined Stuart Varney on Varney & Company recently to discuss the lack of outrage over PP and what that means.
Varney asked Starnes, “How do you explain this difference, just in terms of the media reaction.”
“Well, they just don’t give a damn,” Starnes replied. “At least Planned Parenthood wasn’t chopping up the lion for parts like they’re doing these unborn children.”
When Varney pressed him on the issue about why there is such a stark difference in the reactions of people, Starnes shot back, “Because in our messed up world, we have a country now that doesn’t have a moral compass. Right is wrong and wrong is right. The country is in grave, grave danger. Stuart, since Roe v Wade, nearly 60 million unborn children have been aborted in this country.”
At one point, a female panelist could no longer hold back and began shouting off camera. Then, shaking with rage said, “I can’t sit here and listen to this anymore!”
The debate that ensued was heated, to say the least. You can watch the exchange here:
What do you think our lack of outrage over abortion vs. the completely overboard reaction to the killing of the lion says about us?
