With rioting and protesting occurring almost daily after the elections, arrests have been made repeatedly by police officers in an effort of protecting innocent civilians in the streets.
Over 100 arrests have been made recently by Portland, Oregon police alone.
In a surprising turn of events, the majority of those arrested in Portland did not even vote, or were even registered to vote.
The protests were made in response to the recent election of Donald Trump. Following the election on Tuesday, liberals took to the streets in a panic after Hillary Clinton’s humiliating defeat.
While many of Clinton’s supporters claim they are devastated over the loss of the Democratic position of power, the majority of liberal protestors did not even take the time to register to vote. Many assumed Clinton would win the election in a landslide victory and that their vote would not be necessary.
The Daily Caller reports:
Police officers in Portland, Oregon, have arrested 112 protesters during violent protests after the election of Donald Trump. Of those 112, 69 either were not registered to vote in Oregon, or did not vote there in the 2016 election, NBC’s KGW TV reports.
Oregon voter records revealed the voter information about the detainees. Voter records are typically public record, and a local Portland television station requested the information about the protesters of President-elect Donald Trump.
The Daily Caller reports:
Oregon voter “records show 34 of the protesters arrested didn’t return a ballot for the November 8 election,” KGW reports. “Thirty-five of the demonstrators taken into custody weren’t registered to vote in Oregon.”
KGW has yet to confirm the voting status of 17 protesters who were arrested.
The protests have taken a violent turn, as many police officers are being attacked by weapons such as rocks, bricks, and even flares.
Breitbart News reports:
The mayor of the city, Charlie Hales, was reported to say, “I’m really heartsick that our local small businesses who had no culpability in what happened in this election, far from it, have been harmed by people that just wanted to exploit the protest to raise hell.”
Portland Police Chief Mike Marshman said, “I don’t think they’re out there to protest. I think they’re out there to battle the police.” He added, “We’re taking rocks and bottles and flares.”
While Clinton may have won the popular vote by a small margin, President-elect Donald Trump scored a victory for the Republican Party by a wide margin.
Those who did not participate in the election should have no emotional reaction over the results.
The distraught attitudes shown by liberals, all around, are outrageous considering the lack of votes for Clinton from many of her so-called “supporters”.
What are your thoughts? Should something more be done to deter the outrageous behavior shown by liberal protestors?
