When the FBI declined to recommend charges be brought against Hillary Clinton for her private email server, many accused Obama of rigging the process.
After all, he had endorsed Hillary for President.
But now we have proof his administration stopped an investigation of Hillary Clinton.
Thanks to newly released emails, we have learned the FBI requested to investigate the Clinton Foundation, but Obama’s Department of Justice declined to allow them to proceed.
The Washington Examiner reports:
Justice Department officials decided against an investigation into the Clinton Foundation after the FBI requested the agency open a case into allegations of corruption stemming from Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State.
But the Justice Department’s public integrity unit declined to pursue the probe given what it characterized as insufficient evidence, according to a CNN report Wednesday.
The State Department’s seemingly preferential treatment of foundation donors under Clinton’s leadership has raised questions about whether she and her aides ignored conflicts of interest in order to help the charity’s most generous donors. Emails made public this week have deepened suspicions that donors were afforded access and favors that other outsiders could not get from the agency.
FBI Director James Comey declined to comment last month on whether the FBI’s reported investigation of the Clinton Foundation had concluded with a separate probe into Clinton’s emails. For months, reports had hinted at a widening FBI inquiry related to the philanthropy’s foreign activities.
But how can Americans believe this decision was made in good faith?
Attorney General Loretta Lynch met privately with Bill Clinton on her government airplane just days before FBI Director Comey announced he would not recommend bringing charges against Hillary Clinton.
Hillary also announced that if she won the election, she would consider keeping Loretta Lynch on as Attorney General.
Critics contended this constituted Hillary offering Loretta Lynch a bribe in exchange for not prosecuting her.
While some partisans and so-called “mainstream” media outlets dismissed this as partisan speculation, what can’t be waved off are the emails that have been released detailing how as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sold favors through the Clinton Foundation.
Bloomberg Politics reports:
Newly released e-mails from a top aide to Hillary Clinton show evidence of contacts between Clinton’s State Department and donors to her family foundation and political campaigns.
The e-mails released Tuesday by the conservative group Judicial Watch included a 2009 exchange in which Doug Band, a senior staff member at the Clinton Foundation, told a top Clinton aide at the State Department that it was “important to take care of” an individual, whose name was redacted…
…In another 2009 exchange released Tuesday, Band asked Abedin and Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s Chief of Staff, to put Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire Gilbert Chagoury in touch with a State Department “substance person” on Lebanon. The Chagoury Group co-founder has given between $1 million and $5 million to the Clinton Foundation, according to a list of donors posted online.
With such blatant corruption contained in her emails, it’s no wonder Obama — who desperately wants Hillary to succeed him as President — wanted no FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation.
