Barack Obama delivered his final speech in front of the United Nations General Assembly as President.
It was just as horrible as many imagined.
But he made one statement that had many questioning where his loyalties lie.
During his speech, Obama defended globalism.
That was nothing new.
He favors open borders, global trade deals and military interventions in foreign countries.
But what shocked many Americans was his insistence America had to give up some freedom in order for the world to realize the promise of the United Nations.
Obama TODAY: “In order to realize the promise of the UN, the US must give up freedoms”

The Louder with Crowder blog reports on his remarks:
“We have to put our money where our mouths are. And we can only realize the promise of this institution’s founding to replace the ravages of war with cooperation, if powerful nations – like my own – accept constraints. Sometimes I’m criticized in my own country for professing a belief in international norms and multilateral institutions. But I am convinced in the long run giving up some freedom of action – not giving up our ability to protect ourselves or pursue our core interests – but binding ourselves to international rules over the long term enhances our security.”
Americans were outraged.
Obama claimed American interests and policies should be constrained by global concerns.
He went even further and said we should give up some of our freedom to achieve globalist means.
Those who favor American sovereignty over globalist concerns point out there are many countries in the world, such as Iran and China, that do not act with the best intentions and would love nothing more than to see a United States that gives up its freedom to act on the global stage and conform to the world’s norms.
It was an unbelievable admission by an American president.
Our presidents are supposed to defend our values and interests.
It’s why the position is referred to as “Leader of the Free World.”
But Obama does not believe America’s place is to lead.
It’s to be “constrained” by globalist norms.
He also declared Americans need to accept less freedom.
This was truly a stunning speech.
Most of the headlines focused on his attacks on Donald Trump.
But Hillary Clinton is running to fulfill Obama’s third term.
Does she agree with him that Americans must tolerate less freedom so the United Nations can realize its potential?
