The Senate Minority Leader Just Told A Big Lie About Planned Parenthood

The Minority Leader in the Senate just made an outstandingly false statement in support of Planned Parenthood.

Chuck Schumer just made a claim that was supposed to show his support for the organization.

Instead, it cast a light on Planned Parenthood’s real motivations.

Rep. Schumer just claimed Planned Parenthood offers women “millions of mammograms a year.”

The Daily Caller reported:

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer falsely claimed Tuesday that “millions of women” go to Planned Parenthood for mammograms.

Schumer claimed that, because House Republicans’ proposed replacement for Obamacare will cut funding to abortion providers, “millions of women” who turn to Planned Parenthood for mammograms will suffer.

But contrary to the Senator’s statements, even the president of Planned Parenthood testified that their clinics do not own mammogram machines.

The Daily Caller reported:

There’s just one problem with Schumer’s claim: Planned Parenthood does not provide mammograms.

Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards admitted during congressional testimony in 2015 that the abortion giant doesn’t even have mammogram machines in its clinics.

Schumer was essentially trying to make the claim that Planned Parenthood helps women, but in actuality, the abortion-loving organization takes more lives than it helps.

Planned Parenthood falsely claimed in recent months that its abortion services account for only 3% of their services – but that is when they were comparing offering a home pregnancy test to an individual to carrying out an abortion.

In reality, Planned Parenthood profits off of their abortifacient procedures, and are trying to cover their tracks with the new, pro-life administration.

In this case, Chuck Schumer spoke when he did not know the facts and was swiftly proven wrong.

The Daily Caller reported:

The best Planned Parenthood defenders can say is that the organization offers physical breast exams and refers women elsewhere for mammograms.

As pointed out by a fact-check at The Washington Post, though, “less than 3 percent of Planned Parenthood breast exams result in a referral for a mammogram and other specialized services.”

What are your thoughts?

Do you believe Planned Parenthood only cares about taking lives away instead of helping them?

  • Hey You

A lie is an intentional falsehood. Schumer simply doesn’t know any better so by that definition he isn’t lying.
Of course, intentional or not, being wrong does not add to his credibility.
