Donald Trump is racking up the endorsements.
Most recently, the Fraternal Order of Police, the largest police union in the United States with over 330,000 members, officially endorsed Trump.
The Hill reports:
“[Trump] has seriously looked at the issues facing law enforcement today. He understands and supports our priorities and our members believe he will make America safe again,” said Chuck Canterbury, the FOP’s national president.
“He’s made a real commitment to America’s law enforcement and we’re proud to make a commitment to him and his campaign by endorsing his candidacy today.”
In order to secure the FOP endorsement, Trump had to secure support from more than 2/3’s of the group’s national board.
The FOP’s website proudly listed their endorsement of Trump which:
“Obviously, this is an unusual election,” Canterbury said. “We have a candidate who declined to seek an endorsement and a candidate without any record as an elected official. Mr. Trump, however, has seriously looked at the issues facing law enforcement today. He understands and supports our priorities and our members believe he will make America safe again.
Our National Board, and the more than 330,000 members of the FOP, acquainted themselves with Mr. Trump’s answers to our survey. He took the time off the campaign trail and met with us to talk about our issues, our priorities. He’s made a real commitment to America’s law enforcement and we’re proud to make a commitment to him and his campaign by endorsing his candidacy today.
Donald Trump may not ever have been elected to public office, but he is a proven leader and that’s what we need for the next four years- a leader unafraid to make tough choices and see them through,” Canterbury said. “I look forward to working with the Trump Administration on the issues that matter most to law enforcement.”
The Fraternal Order of Police is known as the “voice of our nation’s law enforcement officers”, and their bold endorsement of Trump shows they understand the seriousness of this election and the importance of electing a President who will fight for the rights of police officers all across the county.
In contrast, the current Obama administration has shown a lack of support for law enforcement officers, and has in turn, incited a war against cops.
In fact, as American Patriot Daily has previously reported, while police officers were getting gunned down across the country with the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, Obama was encouraging protests in the street.
Obama should have been standing behind law enforcement officers and denouncing any acts of violence. Instead, he incited further hatred towards the police.
In addition, American Patriot Daily has reported that while Obama was speaking at a memorial service of five slain police officers, he said:
“We have all seen this bigotry in our lives at some point,” Mr. Obama told an audience of several hundred at a concert hall in Dallas.
“None of us is entirely innocent. No institution is entirely immune. And that includes our police departments. We know this.”
One thing is certain, law enforcement officers are ready for a change.
Do you think the Fraternal Order of Police made the right decision to endorse Trump? Or should they have stayed out of the election?
