Elizabeth Warren is quickly becoming the left’s dream candidate for President in 2020.
The far-left radical is a darling of the self-styled “resistance” to Donald Trump.
So it was surprising to hear Trump’s latest comments about Warren.
Trump was being interviewed on Fox News when the subject of the 2020 campaign came up.
Pundits expect Warren to be one of the top Democratic candidates.
So Trump was asked about the possibility of running against Warren.
He appeared eager to faceoff with her and even called it a “dream.”
“President Donald Trump said in an interview Saturday night that he would happily challenge Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) in 2020, calling that scenario “a dream come true.”
“I think she would lose so badly,” Trump told Fox News’ Jesse Watters. “She hurt Hillary Clinton very badly” in the 2016 presidential election, the president stated.
Warren, who has captured the hearts of progressives, was a high-profile campaign surrogate for Clinton during the 2016 election and appeared side-by-side with Clinton in battleground states such as Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.
“I watched that last couple weeks, where she was getting up with that craziness and anger,” Trump said of Warren’s final few appearances on the campaign trail. “They are hard. I said, ‘She is bad for Hillary.’”
“Pocahontas would not be proud of her as her representative, believe me,” Trump continued, bringing up a nickname for Warren that he used from time-to-time on the campaign trail.
Watters suggested that Warren would “probably run against” Trump in 2020.
“I hope so,” Trump responded. “That would be a dream come true.”
During the 2016 campaign, Trump repeatedly mocked Warren by branding her with the nickname “Pocahontas.”
Trump zinged her for the controversy from her past where she lied about being a Native American Indian to help her job prospects.
The bard infuriated Warren and her cheerleaders in the press, but it delighted Trump supporters.
Warren has now tried to position herself as the leading leftist to challenge Trump.
And Trump appears eager to raise her profile and dare the Democrats to nominate her.
Conservatives believe Warren’s radical views place he far outside the bounds of electability.
Warren supports gun control, abortion on demand, socialist economic policies, and does the bidding of union bosses.
She also fully embraces left-wing social justice cultural politics.
Trump could be throwing out red meat to dare the left to nominate an unelectable challenger like Warren.
Will it work?
