It’s been a while since Trey Gowdy’s made a big stir in the news.
Ever since retiring, the former Congressman and prosecutor has laid low.
But something Trey Gowdy did last week has struck the fear of God in Dems as Gowdy is suggesting Trump investigate this source.
While Trey Gowdy believes the Mueller investigation has freed Trump of any future prosecution, he doesn’t think that this scandal is over.
Far from it actually, as Gowdy who once led the special investigation into the Benghazi attacks as well as Hillary Clinton’s “lost emails” thinks there are guilty parties to be investigated as of May 19th.
Gowdy knows what he’s talking about too. Gowdy once starred as a leading prosecuting attorney in the state of South Carolina, and has an eye for uncovering criminal activity with just a little bit of evidence.
This knack for finding out who’s guilty, even with very little to go on, is why Gowdy thinks Trump should investigate James Comey and John Brennan. Comey, who served as the head of the FBI under Obama, and Brennan, who was the director of the CIA under Obama, may have communicated with one another before the Russian scandal broke wide open.
And Gowdy thinks if their private emails were put forth it would reveal a chain of emails that implicate them in setting up Trump before the 2016 elections.
In an interview on FOX News, Gowdy told Sean Hannity that if William Barr wanted to pin the Democrats, all they’d have to do is check the email chain between the heads of two of America’s most prestigious intelligence agencies.
Gowdy told Hannity there’s “an easy road map to follow” and if Barr’s crack team of investigators started their investigation off by pouring through certain “emails between [former CIA director] Brennan and [former FBI director] Comey in December of 2016,” it wouldn’t be difficult for Barr and his team to build a substantive case against them.
Gowdy went on to say that if Barr’s team started looking at emails sent amongst FBI agents right around the time the Russian probe began, they’d have no issue finding sensitive items no Democrat wants to be exposed.
He also said Barr’s team would do well to assess how the FBI handled British spy Christopher Steele. Steele is the author of the now discredited “dirty dossier” that supposedly would have crushed Trump.
“They have their own internal documents,” Gowdy pointed out. “Part of what Lindsey [Graham] wants to make public are the internal FBI documents where they did their own assessment. And I think you’ll be surprised at whether or not they viewed Steele as being credible.”
Gowdy said he’d seen the documents himself, including a 302 [a report or summary of an FBI interview] where an FBI informant [Steele] “said he’d do anything in the world to make sure Donald Trump lost.”
Gowdy went on to tell Hannity that he personally believed (based on collected evidence) that the FBI knowingly committed fraud against the FISA court by using Steele’s unverified and unverifiable anti-Trump dossier.
“[And] they made no effort to corroborate the dossier until after it had been used in the application and a renewal. No effort! It’s not that they failed. They made no effort to do it!” he exclaimed.
He added, “Whoever’s investigating this, tell them to look for emails between Brennan and Comey in December of 2016.”
