All the experts thought the pieces of the 2020 election puzzle were falling into place.
But Democrats are quickly realizing they may have counted their chickens before they hatched.
And now this brand new poll hit every Democrat in America with some really bad news.
Donald Trump carried states like Iowa and others across the heartland because of his overwhelming support from America’s farmers.
Barack Obama carried Iowa twice and many pundits thought the state was trending blue in Presidential elections because of how often Democrats had carried it.
But Donald Trump’s promise to renegotiate America’s trade schools struck a chord with farmers across America.
And on Election Day, the heartland – including Iowa and its six crucial Electoral College votes – went red.
In Donald Trump’s first two and half years in office, the President made good on his promise to take on China and the rest of the countries that ripped America off for decades thanks to lopsided trade deals.
The President slapped tariffs on 300 billion dollars worth of Chinese goods to force Beijing to the negotiating table.
China responded by ending its purchase of soy beans and other American agricultural products.
The Chinese believed they could leverage America’s farmers against the President by threatening their livelihood.
In turn, the threat of a revolt by a core constituency – America’s farmers – would force Trump to capitulate and grovel to accept the terms of trade deals agreed to past American Presidents.
President Trump – however – stood firm.
And that led Democrats to smell opportunity to flip Iowa and other farm states back into their column.
Democrat Presidential candidates pledged to end Trump’s so-called “trade war” in the hopes that waving the white flag would win over farm votes by restoring China’s previous level of agricultural product purchase levels.
On the other hand, the President claimed it was policies that benefited America’s farmers.
“The Farmers are going to be so happy when they see what we are doing for Ethanol, not even including the E-15, year around, which is already done. It will be a giant package, get ready! At the same time I was able to save the small refineries from certain closing. Great for all!” the President tweeted.
President Trump turned out to be right.
America’s farmers are not mercenaries.
They are patriots.
And a brand new poll of 1,150 agricultural producers conducted by Farm Futures showed the number of farmers saying they intended to vote for Donald Trump’s re-election increased to 67 percent from 60 percent one year ago.
This new poll throws a major monkey wrench into the Democrats’ plans to win back the White House.
Iowa – along with Florida, North Carolina and Ohio – made up Donald Trump’s “core four” states in 2016.
The President is in a strong position to carry those states once again.
That leaves the Democrats a narrower path – needing to win two of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin – to oust the President.
