Fox News operates under media glare unlike any other news outlet.
Liberal activists and other members of the fake news media are always on the hunt for the next scandal they think will take down Fox News.
And now this Fox News host is about to get fired because of one giant mistake.
Tucker Carlson and left-wing Fox News host Shepard Smith broke out into an on-air feud over Smith’s biased and false coverage of President Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian President.
Appearing on Smith’s show, Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano claimed the phone call was proof President Trump confessed to a crime.
That same night, Tucker Carlson had former federal prosecutor Joe diGenova on to discuss this matter and diGenova declared Napolitano was a “fool” that didn’t understand the law.
That enraged the anti-Trump Smith.
The very next day Smith ranted and raved on the air that Carlson was a mere “opinion” host and that having diGenova on to question the fake news media’s claims that President Trump was a criminal was “repugnant.”
Carlson was not about to let that insult go unanswered.
On his nightly broadcast Carlson tore apart the fraud of Shepard Smith as a straight news anchor.
“Now, unlike maybe some dayside hosts, I’m not very partisan,” Carlson told his viewers.
Carlson went on to explain that Smith was trafficking in opinion just as he claimed Carlson was.
“It doesn’t seem honest to me when a host, any host on any channel, including this one, pretends that the answer is obvious,” Carlson added. “That’s not news, is it? That’s opinion.”
Finally, Carlson jabbed Smith by pointing out he was just an angry left-wing partisan.
“It makes people cynical when you dress up news coverage, when you dress up partisanship as news coverage and pretend that your angry political opinions are news, you know, people tune out,” Carlson concluded.
This on-air feud did not go unnoticed by Fox News management.
Vanity Fair’s anti-Fox gossip columnist Gabriel Sherman claimed network higher ups ordered Smith stop attacking Carlson or else he was fired.
Sherman reported, “…Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott and president Jay Wallace communicated to Smith this morning to stop attacking Carlson, a person briefed on the conversation said. ‘They said if he does it again, he’s off the air.’”
Liberal media critics like fake news CNN’s Brian Stelter and the Washington Post’s Erik Wemple regularly praise Smith’s on-air liberal advocacy.
Left-wing partisans like Stelter and Wemple circle the wagons around Smith and often praise him for injecting “reality” – meaning Smith passes off Democrat Party talking points as news – to Fox News Channel’s programming.
Fox News channel has other real news anchors like Bret Baier, Bill Hemmer and Martha MacCallum.
Smith’s presence on the network taints their ability to present their programming as “straight news.”
