Democrats have some explaining to do.
It could not come at a worse time.
And a key Democrat just got arrested for this mind-blowing reason.
Police arrested Congressional Black Caucus Chair Joyce Beatty and eight other individuals for protesting in a restricted area of the Capitol.
Beatty and her fellow protestors were demanding Congress pass legislation facilitating a federal government takeover of elections in mostly Republican states.
“We’re here today because we will continue to come, and to stand up, to protect our voting rights. We will do this until we pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act,” Beatty stated. “We have everything to lose.”
Under the bill Beatty and other Democrats support, mostly Republican states in the south would have to beg the federal government for permission to make any changes to election law.
The Biden Department of Justice would certainly then reject any election integrity measures including voter ID laws which 80 percent of the public supports.
Beatty than falsely compared legislation in Texas, Georgia – which makes modest changes to voting and enhance voter ID requirements for mail-in-voting while adding extra hours of early voting – to segregationist governments in the south unleashing police dogs on Civil Rights demonstrators and blasting them with fire hoses.
“We might as well still have the dogs and the hoses, because we don’t have the Voting Rights Act.” Beatty stated.
Prior to the arrest, Beatty also claimed black women were marching for their right to vote.
“Black women are demanding OUR right to vote! We’re marching to the Senate to send a strong message.” Beatty wrote.
Later, Beatty claimed police arresting her would not stop the pressure campaign to force Senate Democrats to blow up the filibuster and pass laws that entrench federal government control over elections.
“You can arrest me. You can’t stop me. You can’t silence me.” Beatty wrote on Twitter.
Donald Trump, Jr. later mocked Beatty’s protest sarcastically posting that he had no idea black women lacked the right to vote.
“This is terrible. I had no idea that Black Women couldn’t vote. How is this not a bigger story?” Trump, Jr. asked.
Democrats continue to falsely claim Republican state legislatures propose and pass bills represent a modern-day Jim Crow.
Joe Biden and Stacey Abrams led the way in deploying this incendiary and false rhetoric.
Joyce Beatty’s Capitol Protest and subsequent arrest just served as an escalation in Democrat attacks on red state ballot security measures.
Democrats attempts to pass legislation enacting a federal takeover of state election procedures stalled out under Republican filibuster threats.
Beatty’s protest and subsequent arrest were designed to shame Democrats into changing the rules and nuking the legislative filibuster.
