CNN will do anything to protect Joe Biden from his own stupidity.
But it is only exposing their own hypocrisy.
A top CNN host got in big trouble when an old Trump tweet came back to bite.
On Monday evening President Joe Biden called Fox News reporter Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a b***h” for questioning him on how inflation would impact the Democratic Party during the upcoming midterms.
“Do you think inflation is a political liability for midterms?” Doocy asked.
“It’s a great asset, more inflation,” Biden responded. “What a stupid son of a b****.”
This outburst is hardly singular for Biden.
During the campaign trail Biden would often insult voters who asked difficult questions. He demeaned a college student in New Hampshire who asked Biden if he could win the general election by calling her a “lying dog-faced pony soldier.” In Iowa, Biden called a man questioning him on Hunter Biden’s Ukrainian business deals “fat” and “too old to vote for me.” Another time, he told a Detroit factory worker who challenged him on his stance on guns “you’re full of s**t.”
Biden has been able to get away with this behavior in the past because the mainstream media helped cover for him, and on Monday evening they were busy trying to help Biden yet again.
Left-wing CNN host Brian Stelter was at the forefront running interference for Biden.
“At the end of a Biden photo op, when reporters shouted Q’s hoping he’d respond, Fox’s Peter Doocy asked, ‘Do you think inflation is a political liability in the midterms?’ Biden deadpanned: ‘It’s a great asset—more inflation. What a stupid son of a b****,’” Stelter captioned a video clip of the shocking moment.
Stelter also retweeted a post categorizing Biden’s remarks to Doocy as a “blip” and mocking Fox News for even covering the story.
Conservative politicos online noted that Stelter had a very different reaction when former President Donald Trump referred to MSNBC host Chuck Todd as a “sleepy son of a b***h.”
“Calling a journalist a ‘son of a b****?’ It was wrong when Trump was just a candidate, and it’s even worse now that he’s POTUS,” Stelter posted in 2018. And a newsletter excerpt attached to the tweet prominently stated, “These jabs expose journalists to threats and intimation.”
Stelter saw the response and tried to justify himself by saying that it’s “different” with Biden because of the “context.”
“This is from 2018. It’s still true. Biden was wrong to call Doocy an SOB. The press is right to hold presidents to high standards. Biden doesn’t berate the media like Trump, so the context for today is different, but it’s still out of line,” the CNN host rationalized.
