Joe Biden has gone too far even for radical members of his own party.
He’s creating a crisis by making it even easier to enter America illegally.
A top Obama official is horrified at Joe Biden’s insane new ideas for the border.
The Biden administration is planning to lift Title 42 at the end of May which will lead to worsening conditions at the border.
Title 42 is a Trump-era directive from 2020 which is responsible for deporting roughly 1.7 million migrants.
“Revoking Title 42 will create an unprecedented surge at the southern border and it will overwhelm law enforcement agencies and non-governmental organizations as well,” a Republicans lawsuit to keep Title 42 argued. “The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, (DHS), estimates getting rid of Title 42 will result in as many as 18,000 migrants per day – which could mean 540,000 migrants in a single month.”
America is not equipped to handle half a million illegal immigrants crossing over in a single month.
Even some Democrats realize that lifting Title 42 is madness.
Jeh Johnson, Obama’s Secretary of Homeland Security, warned during an interview on Sunday that President Joe Biden was going to pay a steep political price if the crisis on the southern border continues.
CBS News host Margaret Brennan asked Johnson whether the Biden administration was prepared to deal with the increased numbers once Title 42 is revoked.
“When we hear from the administration that they could see as many as 18,000 migrants per day crossing that border, it seems incredible. Senate Democrats have said the administration is not prepared. Do you think they are?” Brennan questioned.
“Numbers at these levels are difficult to handle on the southern border,” Johnson said. “Communities on the southern border, catholic charities, the volunteers, difficult to absorb these types of numbers under almost any scenario. It’s challenging for the Border Patrol, for ICE to properly process and track these individuals. And, obviously, the Biden administration is paying a political cost for these.”
Johnson said that if he were still in office, he “would have argued that we should keep it in place just a little while longer, until perhaps July, when these numbers do tend to slow down in the hotter weather,” noting that “March, April, May tend to be the peak seasons for migration on our southern border.”
“And so DHS will have a challenge. And I heard the current secretary the other day say at present they have something like 7,000 a day,” he added. “That’s a high number.”
The Biden administration is preparing for the huge influx by hiring 300 Border Patrol agents and 300 Border Patrol Processing Coordinators, hardly a significant increase in numbers considering the expected surge in illegal migration.
