The covid regulations that Democrats are clinging to are way overboard.
There’s no scientific evidence to back up their claims.
A top Republican said five words that sent Dr. Fauci into a nervous breakdown.
At the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak Dr. Fauci told multiple media outlets that masks were not necessary according to released emails.
When asked on February 5, 2020, Fauci advised against wearing a mask on a plane, saying: “Masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection,” he said. “The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through the material.” Fauci concluded, saying “I do not recommend that you wear a mask” to travel by air.
Yet despite the fact that the majority of Americans are vaccinated the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has continued to mandate that all travelers wear masks on airplanes.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is working to revoke the federal mask mandate for travelers on airplanes, noting that it’s “time to stop this farce.”
“When the Senate returns to session, I will be introducing an immediate repeal of the mask mandate on planes. Enough! Time to stop this farce and let people travel in peace!” Paul tweeted on Thursday.
Back in March Paul directly confronted Fauci over his use of masks despite being vaccinated.
“What studies do you have that people that’ve had the vaccine or had the infection are spreading the infection? If we’re not spreading the infection, isn’t it just theater?” Paul asked, referring to people who have received the vaccine the Daily Wire reported.
“No, it’s not,” Fauci responded.
In the exchange Paul slammed the policies further.
“You’ve been vaccinated and you parade around in two masks for show. You can’t get it again. There’s virtually 0% chance you’re gonna get it, and yet you’re telling people that have had the vaccine, that have immunity — you’re defying everything we know about immunity by telling people to wear masks that have been vaccinated. Instead you should be saying there is no science to say we’re going to have a problem from the large number of people who’ve been vaccinated. You want to get rid of vaccine hesitancy? Wearing masks after they get the vaccine? You want people to get the vaccine? Give them a reward instead of telling them that the nanny state is going to be there for three more years and you gotta wear a mask forever. People don’t want to hear it; there’s no science behind it.”
