Ilhan Omar may never win re-election or serve in public office again.
For the first few months in Congress she has been exposed as an anti-Semite time and time again.
And a top Trump ally just smacked Ilhan Omar with the worst possible news.
Ilhan Omar is among the first wave of Muslim women serving in Congress.
And to begin her career, she has been making anti-Semitic statements that have brought her national scorn.
There is perhaps no issue she supports more than the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
The goal of the movement is to convince companies not to invest or spend money in Israel, so they cannot raise the money to adequately defend themselves from continued attacks from radical Palestinians.
But the movement just took in its greatest loss from one of Trump’s top allies.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is a long-time Trump supporter who defeated radical leftist Andrew Gillum in 2018.
And he has taken the strongest pro-Israel stance of perhaps any politician in office today.
While visiting the Gush Etzion region of the West Bank, the Florida Governor brought up BDS during a speech alongside Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan.
“Here is the thing that frustrates me about BDS,” DeSantis said. “You have people who would be willing to trade with Iran the leading state sponsor of terrorism in the world. .. but they only want to boycott the one Jewish democracy in the world, that is the only place that they seem to get upset about.”
“To me, that just shows you that antisemitism is driving the the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, I don’t think you can separate the two,” DeSantis continued on to say.
DeSantis went on to pride himself as the most pro-Israel Governor in the most pro-Israel state in the country.
So he makes clear that Florida will remain to do business with Israel, and that he will oppose anybody who disagrees with that, stating that, “If you support BDS in Florida, you are dead, politically.”
This is likely the harshest response to the BDS movement by any elected official.
And it is nowhere near the response that his opponent, Andrew Gillum would give if he was in the same position.
Gillum has a long and confusing history relating to the BDS movement and Israel.
He publicly states he is against the movement, but many believe that his political connections may say otherwise.
Gillum received hundreds of thousands of dollars from left-wing mega-donor George Soros, who is behind many of the organizations leading the BDS movement.
And prior to running for office, he attended the Soros-funded Rockwood Leadership Institute, which has alumni including Linda Sarsour, who is one of the loudest voices in the BDS movement.
Gillum is perhaps the worst loss George Soros had in 2018.
Not only did the candidate he sent hundreds of thousands to lose, but the person who won stands firmly against virtually everything Soros believes in.
DeSantis is proving to be the worst thing ever to happen to the Democrat Party in Florida.
