The Democrats’ impeachment witch hunt is off to a rocky start.
Democrats showed up in the Senate unprepared to argue the case they claimed was airtight.
Adam Schiff was red with rage when he saw how Chuck Schumer betrayed him on national TV.
Democrats’ biggest bone of contention in the Senate impeachment trial were the rules laid proposed by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
McConnell proposed having 24 hours of oral arguments followed by 16 hours of Senators submitting written questions.
After these portions of the trial were over, the Senate would then hold votes on new witnesses.
But Democrats wanted commitments on witness testimony up front.
In a press conference at the start of trial Schumer let it slip why the Democrats’ demands for new witnesses were so urgent.
McConnell stated he wanted a trial that followed the format of the 1999 proceeding for Bill Clinton.
Schumer attacked that notion in his statement to reporters.
But Schumer accidentally revealed that Democrats had a baseless case that was not supported by the facts.
“McConnell seems to want a trial with no existing evidence and no new evidence,” Schumer ranted to reporters.
Many Trump supporters would agree the Democrats produced a fact-free case.
Despite the fake news media hyping the witness testimony the Democrats did obtain from a group of seditious bureaucrats trying to overthrow the duly elected President, none of it amounted to anything more than gossip.
It was a stretch to even call anyone the Democrats brought forth to testify a witness since none of them had any firsthand discussions with the President and could only offer hearsay and innuendo in place of actual testimony.
Schumer was not the only Senate Democrat to undercut the House Managers’ case.
Left-wing fanatic Mazie Hirono of Hawaii ripped Adam Schiff and his colleagues for not completing the job of fact finding in the House of Representatives.
During an interview with fake news CNN, so-called “reporter” Jake Tapper asked Hirono if the format for witness testimony in the Clinton impeachment trial – videotaped depositions in private with excerpts shown to Senators – would satisfy her.
Hirono responded by ripping House Democrats for not completing the job of gathering evidence.
“…If we’re following the Clinton precedent, there would have been all of the discovery done at the House level and that’s not what is happening at all. They want to trickle out the — and limit as much as possible anything that any witness that we want can testify to, so that is their whole modus operandi, to limit the information that is produced for our consideration and to the American public,” Hirono hysterically ranted.
Schiff and the Democrats cannot get around the fact their demands for new witnesses fall apart on two fronts.
If the Democrats’ case is so strong, why do they need new witnesses?
And if these witnesses’ testimony was so vital, why did the Democrats not pursue every avenue available to win the ability to compel these individuals to testify before Congress?
