There’s one simple question that Adam Schiff is stubbornly refusing to answer.
He knows if he answered it would backfire on the Democrats in a major way.
Adam Schiff is hiding a huge impeachment secret that could explode the Senate trial.
Democrats are desperately trying to keep impeachment from being a complete failure.
The Democrats got a dud in the House so they need a more convincing Senate trial to convince the American public that impeachment was the right step.
This will be almost impossible with the Republicans holding Senate majority.
The Democrats not only have to get new witnesses but they have to get impeachment witnesses that make them look good.
The Democrats have a long list of people they don’t want to see witness; Joe Biden, Hunter Biden and the Ukrainian whistleblower will make the Democrats look bad if they’re on the impeachment stand.
Adam Schiff made it clear that he’s also trying to dodge the witness stand.
He has every reason to avoid it — he told the American people numerous lies about impeachment from the very beginning when he illegally was in contact with the Ukrainian whistleblower before he made his report.
Adam Schiff would either perjure himself or make the Democrats look ridiculous if he had to witness at the Senate trial.
That’s why he won’t answer a simple question of whether he would witness at the Senate trial.
According to the Washington Examiner:
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff skirted around the question of whether he would adhere to a subpoena to testify in a Senate impeachment trial against President Trump.
The California Democrat, who led the House impeachment hearings, claimed during Monday’s episode of The View that submitting to Republican witness demands would turn the trial into a “sham.”
Referring to Trump’s tweet over the weekend calling for Schiff and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi be witnesses, co-host Abby Huntsman, who announced she is leaving The View after two seasons to help run her father’s gubernatorial campaign in Utah, asked, “Would you, if asked, be willing to testify, if subpoenaed?”
Schiff argued that it would not make sense for him and Pelosi to be called to testify on Trump’s actions related to Ukraine, which are subject to the impeachment effort.
“Look, I’m not a fact witness. So, other than mollifying the president, I’m not sure why the Senate would call me or Nancy Pelosi as a witness,” he said.
As impeachment was underway in the House last year, Republicans named Schiff as someone they wanted to testify, as well as the intelligence community whistleblower who contacted a member of his staff before filing the complaint that sparked the impeachment effort.
The reason that Adam Schiff should testify is not to appease Trump’s feelings.
It’s to see if the Democrats’ effort to impeachment was conducted in good faith or if it was an underhanded political hit job.
Because Adam Schiff’s behavior makes it look like he was just trying to attack Trump without due cause.
