Adam Schiff has just been expelled from the Intelligence Committee in Congress.
And now, he’s asking for a promotion.
But Schiff’s unthinkable announcement could end up leading to his political downfall.
Fresh off of being humiliated in Congress by being expelled from the House Intelligence Committee for having lied to the American people, Adam Schiff is now asking for a promotion.
That’s because Schiff just announced that he is running for U.S. Senate in California in 2024.
And opinion polls show that this could be the most difficult race Schiff has ever run.
CNN reports, “Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff announced a 2024 Senate bid on Thursday, launching a campaign for Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat in what is shaping up to be a competitive Democratic primary.
Schiff is the latest Democrat to jump into the primary, joining fellow California Rep. Katie Porter, who announced her bid earlier this month. Multiple sources told CNN earlier this month that Rep. Barbara Lee told her colleagues in the Congressional Black Caucus during a closed-door meeting that she plans to run for the Senate as well.”
The completive three-way primary in California exposes a growing rift within the Democratic Party, as Schiff is currently trailing Katie Porter by about 10 points, though a substantial percentage of voters have yet to make up their minds.
Ironically, the problem that Schiff faces is the fact that millions of Republicans in California appear poised to vote for any candidate who can defeat him in a general election, even if that ends up being another Democrat.
And the reason Schiff is facing this issue in the first place is because he has repeatedly abused his power in Congress in order to further his own political career, often at the expense of the truth itself.
Schiff lied to the American people about the nature of Donald Trump’s first impeachment trial, only to then try and bully Twitter into silencing reporters who were commenting on if Schiff was manipulating the impeachment process to make it appear like partisan hacks for the Democrats were actually neutral and credible witnesses.
As a result, Schiff was thrown off of the Intelligence Committee once Republicans captured control of the House of Representatives after the 2022 elections.
And now, Schiff thinks he is due for a promotion to the U.S. Senate, despite the fact that he has demonstrated that he isn’t qualified to serve in Congress at all.
“I look forward to campaigning hard in this race, meeting Californians where they are, and listening to what they want from their next Senator. I hope to earn their votes and their trust,” Schiff said when he publicly announced his Senate campaign.
The fact that Schiff is asking that to earn the trust of voters is ironic, considering the fact that he has made a career out of abusing the truth voters already granted him when they sent him to Congress in the first place.
And now, Schiff finds himself in a true race that could see the voters punishing him for his record of lying in Congress.
And if he loses this Senate race, it could mark the final end to his political career.
