Rep. Adam Schiff is the closest thing the Democrats have to a leader currently.
He is working overtime to make their pipedream of impeachment a reality.
And he just jumped into the 2020 election with a move Trump will hate.
Adam Schiff’s impeachment court isn’t going well.
Despite forming with majority public support, he continues to lose support, while Trump’s approval rating is increasing.
His loss of support is largely due to the shady actions he continues to make.
Schiff’s impeachment court has been behind closed doors, in secret hearing rooms where the only information that gets out is what Schiff wants the public to hear.
When a group of Republican Congressmen entered the room Schiff even forced it to be shut down until they left.
Schiff was hoping he could continue with this Soviet-style system, but in recent days he has clearly realized he can’t.
That’s why he announced that he will be hosting public hearings for specific witnesses.
He presented it as a way to hand Republicans a small win in a process that Democrats have controlled since the start.
But in reality, his public hearings will be just as rigged as his secret hearings.
Schiff is forcing Republicans to force any potential witnesses through a series of unfair and arbitrary requirements that no Democrat witness has had to go through.
And in making this announcement, Schiff seemed to hint at the reason why things have been secret, and it involves who he may be supporting in the 2020 presidential election.
The big issue that sprung up the impeachment hearings was the complaint from a “whistleblower” about Trump allegedly threatening Ukraine’s President to force him to investigate Joe Biden over potential corruption relating to his son’s businesses.
That claim has been proven false with the transcript of the call in question being released.
But the scandal relating to Joe Biden is still very much real, with Republicans even trying to force him to testify during the public hearings.
That’s why Adam Schiff sent a letter to members of the House Intelligence Committee, where the hearings will take place, making clear that the hearings will not involve the Bidens.
He also blasted any attempts to discuss the Russia hoax, which has a lot of similarities to this latest impeachment effort.
“It is important to underscore that the House’s impeachment inquiry, and the Committee, will not serve as venues for any Member to further the same sham investigations into the Bidens or into debunked conspiracies about 2016 U.S. election interference that President Trump pressed Ukraine to undertake for his personal political benefit,” Schiff wrote in a memo to members of the House Intelligence Committee.
Schiff is clearly going to bat for Biden, who loses support every time his scandal relating to his son’s business interests in Ukraine comes up.
He is also signaling that the impeachment hearings will likely have little to do with that, proving that the original “whistleblower” complaint was never what they expected to take Trump down with.
Do you think Schiff’s impeachment hearings should be shut down?
