Former Vice President Joe Biden was the frontrunner in the 2020 election.
But not anymore.
That’s because all hell broke loose when Joe Biden said the ten words that just lost him the election.
Former Vice President Joe Biden was riding high on the campaign trail.
Biden saw a massive bounce in the polls with a 40-point lead over Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
One poll even found him leading President Trump by five points in the red state of Arizona.
However, Biden established a well-known reputation as a gaffe machine in his previous Presidential campaigns.
That continued this week while he campaigned in Las Vegas.
Former Vice President was speaking to a crowd about the October 1st, 2017 shooting at a country music festival.
Biden used the occasion to issue a call for more gun control.
“The fact is, it’s hard to not think about October 1, that day. All the lives that were lost, all the families that were forever changed, all created by senseless gun violence.”
“I’ll never forget the meeting I had with the parents of the 20 school kids that were killed and the teachers that were killed up in Sandy Hook. And it goes on and on and on,” Biden stated.
The former Vice President went on to state his support for disarming the American people.
“And I just want to say to you … there’s a Second Amendment, but there’s a rational way to deal with the Second Amendment,” Biden continued.
“I just want to let you know that we can do it rationally.”
Biden did not spell out the specific steps, but Americans know what Democrats mean when they say there’s a “rational way.”
Former Vice President Biden was a strong supporter of Dianne Feinstein’s so-called assault weapons ban.
In 2013, the Obama administration tried to ram a national gun registration database into law.
And the 2020 Presidential campaign has already seen multiple Democrats stake out the most extreme anti-Second Amendment positions as possible.
New Jersey Senator Cory Booker unveiled a plan for national gun licensing.
California Congressman Eric Swalwell is running a single-issue campaign centered on deploying federal agents to kick down the doors of American citizens and arresting them at gun point if they do not surrender their weapons.
And while these ideas may seem far-fetched, it’s wise to consider that court packing, reparations for slavery, and abolishing ICE were also once seen as radical ideas no mainstream politician would ever touch.
But in today’s Democrat Party, they have been quickly adopted by every top-tier Presidential contender.
Nevertheless, while Joe Biden’s support for extremist gun control may be good primary politics, it will be a killer in the General Election.
Republicans picked up nine Senate seats in 2014 when they campaigned against the Obama-Biden national gun registration scheme.
With Biden now staking ground even further to the left on gun control, his 2020 campaign could likely be doomed.
