The Cuomo brothers came up with a scheme together to get Andrew Cuomo off the hook.
The nursing home scandal is growing by the day.
Andrew Cuomo crashed his career with one shocking statement on CNN.
On April 20th Andrew Cuomo said he didn’t know what New York’s policy was in terms of nursing homes and deflected the question the reporter was trying to ask.
On April 23rd Cuomo said that nursing homes didn’t have the right to object to his policy.
“They don’t have a right to object. That is the rule and that is the regulation and they have to comply with that,” Cuomo said during his daily briefing.
He added that the regulation was “just common sense” and that nursing homes have ethic and legal obligations to care for coronavirus patients that were still contagious.
Common sense would be not sending patients that are contagious to nursing homes under any circumstances.
There’s no way for Cuomo to defend his actions but he’s doing everything possible to get away from the criticism that people of New York were hurt by his nursing home policies.
Luckily the press is on his side.
On CNN he was interviewed by his brother in “Cuomo Prime Time.”
Instead of facing serious questions about how he handled the coronavirus outbreak Cuomo’s brother laughed at the size of Andrew’s nose.
“Instead of asking his brother, why he decided to pack COVID patients into nursing homes, killing untold amounts of people, Chris Cuomo pulled out oversized, prop cotton swabs to mock how big his brother’s nose was,” said media analyst Nicholas Fondacaro on Twitter.
“This is the state of ‘journalism’ on CNN. Pathetic!” Fondarcaro added.
Meghan McCain, a co-host on “The View” commented how out of touch the Cuomo brothers are to the pain and suffering that people are experiencing at the moment.
“I’m not sure I’m going to ever be able to buy a crib or baby clothes for my first child in a store, Most of my friends are jobless, petrified and dealing with depression and Janice Dean lost both her mother and father in law to covid within a week of each other.” McCain wrote. “This is HILARIOUS guys.” She added sarcastically.
Cuomo is trying to blame Trump’s guidelines for the regulations that he put in place and the media is willing to repeat his story that Andrew Cuomo was just following federal guidelines.
The media would be very different if Cuomo was a Republican.
“Can you imagine how much press the nursing home tragedy here in New York City would be getting if [Governor Cuomo] was a Republican?” Janice Dean a meteorologist at Fox News wrote. “It would be on every single channel and newspaper. (And yes, if he was a Republican I’d be just as furious).”
Dean lost both her mother-in-law and father-in-law to coronavirus. They were residents in a New York State care facility.
Andrew Cuomo shouldn’t be laughing and kidding around. He should be apologizing for his bad policy decisions.
