Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went and stepped in it again.
This was a costly gaffe.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez revealed one truth that will bury Democrats.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito blasted members of the corporate media who speculated that it was a conservative justice or one of their law clerks who leaked the Dobbs opinion last May that showed the court had the five votes to overturn Roe v. Wade.
The theory floated by liberals in the corporate press held that if the opinion was out in public then the justices who voted to strike down Roe would have no choice but to resist the pressure campaign from Chief Justice John Roberts to cave in and find a middle ground that would keep Roe in place.
Justice Alito dismissed this theory as hooey and noted that the leak put the conservative justices lives in danger.
Alito said he traveled in an armored vehicle with security detail because of the threats on his life.
“Those of us who were thought to be in the majority, thought to have approved my draft opinion, were really targets of assassination,” Justice Alito explained. “It was rational for people to believe that they might be able to stop the decision in Dobbs by killing one of us.”
Justice Alito also cited the fact that the leak inspired a Joe Biden supporter to attempt to assassinate Brett Kavanaugh in his home as further proof a conservative justice would not have leaked the decision.
“That’s infuriating to me,” Justice Alito added. “Look, this made us targets of assassination. Would I do that to myself? Would the five of us have done that to ourselves? It’s quite implausible.”
“Can someone explain why Supreme Court justices, who allegedly are so dedicated to an appearance of impartiality that they force themselves keep this face 😐 throughout the State of the Union are also going to the media to say stuff like this,” Ocasio-Cortez posted on Twitter.
