The fight against critical race theory is raging across America.
The truth is even worse than people think.
Barack Obama has this secret tie from his past to critical race theory.
Parents are turning into activists to stop schools from indoctrinating their children with Marxist critical race theory.
This is a very new fight that many Americans think just sprung up recently.
But back at the 2012 Conservative Political Action Conference the late Andrew Breitbart produced footage from Barack Obama’s days as the editor of the Harvard Law Review where Obama appeared with a controversial professor named Derrick Bell who Buzzfeed described as a “pioneer” of critical race theory.
“Bell was the first black tenured professor at the school, and a pioneer of “critical race theory,” which insisted, controversially, on reading issues of race and power into legal scholarship. His protest that spring was occasioned by Harvard’s denial of tenure to a black woman professor, Regina Austin, at a time when only three of the law school’s professors were black and only five women. He told Harvard he would take a leave of absence — a kind of academic strike — “until a woman of color is offered and accepted a tenured position on this faculty,” and he launched a hunger strike to dramatize his point.” BuzzFeed reported.
Contrary to claims that critical race theory is only taught in law school, Slate’s Will Oremus wrote back in 2012 that critical race theory is widespread across multiple academic disciplines.
“And many of [Bell’s] ideas are not radical today in the sense of being outside the mainstream: Critical race theory is widely taught and studied, not only in law but in sociology, education, and other fields,” Oremus wrote. “And it is part of the mainstream debates over affirmative action, immigration, and hate-crime laws.”
Ben Shapiro – who wrote for Breitbart in 2012 – authored a column after Andrew Breitbart released his bombshell footage authored a column explaining how critical race theory formed the backbone of the Obama administration’s policy agenda.
His administration has been an ode to CRT. He appointed Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court; she had no judicial background, and no record to speak of. But we do know one thing about her: she helped Derrick Bell usher a seminal CRT piece into the Harvard Law Review in 1985. As Bell stated, “Several editors worked with me on the piece but Elena Kagan was the articles editor … There was real dedication and support by Elena.” President Obama also appointed Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court; this was the same woman who suggested that she had a special perspective on the Constitution because she was a “wise Latina.” And then there’s Eric Holder, the Attorney General, who said we were a “nation of cowards” on race, and who has used the Department of Justice to target racial groups unequally (see, for example, the famed New Black Panther case).
Even back in 2012 Breitbart described critical race theory as a Marxist ideology that taught the falsehood that America was founded on institutions infused with white supremacy.
Breitbart’s 2012 disclosure of Obama’s links to the earliest supports of critical race theory show how the anti-American ideology simmered beneath the surface in American education as the left used it to warp the minds of college and law students going back decades.
And now the left is trying to inject critical race theory into K-12 education in America.
