The left is constantly changing their standards in increasingly radical ways.
Even Bernie Sanders can’t keep up with them.
Bernie Sanders was horrified to learn the serious accusation leveled against him.
The most memorable part of President Joe Biden’s inauguration was the sight of Sen. Bernie Sanders grumpily seated alone.
He had good reason to be unhappy, after all the Democratic leadership appeared to work behind the scenes to prevent him from getting the nomination.
The picture was amusing and became an internet meme.
Sanders capitalized on the internet trend, selling $2 million In merchandise referring to the picture for the underprivileged in Vermont.
But according to a writer for the San Francisco Chronicle this is all a sign of “white supremacy” that the Vermont Senator came to Biden’s swearing in dressed in a parka coat, dress slacks, and a pair of patterned mittens.
“We’ve been studying diversity and discrimination in the United States; my students were ready. What did they see? They saw a white man in a puffy jacket and huge mittens, distant not only in his social distancing, but in his demeanor and attire,” University of California-Berkeley professor Ingrid Seyer-Ochi wrote.
“A wealthy, incredibly well-educated and -privileged white man, showing up for perhaps the most important ritual of the decade, in a puffy jacket and huge mittens,” she added.
Seyer-Ochi implies that Sanders was only able to get away with his style choices because he was a white male.
“Sen. Sanders is no white supremacist insurrectionist,” she wrote. “But he manifests privilege, white privilege, male privilege and class privilege, in ways that my students could see and feel.”
“I don’t know many poor, or working class, or female, or struggling-to-be-taken-seriously folk who would show up at the inauguration of our 46th president dressed like Bernie,” she concludes.
Most people also wouldn’t have dressed in the outfits Lady Gaga or slam poet Amanda Gorman chose to don for the inauguration.
Most working class families wouldn’t be able to afford the $1000 coat that Michelle Obama showed up in.
Yet those are the people whose outfits we should be talking about according to Seyer-Ochi.
“We talked about gender and the possible meanings of the attire chosen by Vice President Kamala Harris, Dr. Jill Biden, the Biden grandchildren, Michelle Obama, Amanda Gorman and others,” she said of her class. “We referenced the female warriors inspiring these women, the colors of their educational degrees and their monochromatic ensembles of pure power.”
Bernie, however, needs to try harder. “When you see privilege, you know it,” she wrote.
This is the insanity of the left.
Michelle Obama, Jill Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are the definition of privileged.
They are all powerful and wealthy.
But according to the left we’re supposed to figure out a person’s privilege by their gender and race, and not by their actual circumstances and Bernie Sanders inherently perpetuates “white supremacy,” whenever he gets any attention.
This is sickeningly racist and sexist ideology to believe and should have no place in America’s public life.
