Robert Mueller was set to testify Wednesday before a joint House Judiciary and Intelligence Committee panel.
This is Mueller’s first time testifying as a private citizen and not a government employee.
That means Mueller doesn’t have government staff to help him prepare for his testimony.
But the cast of characters Mueller brought raised even more questions about Mueller’s intentions and bias.
Mueller tapped high profile D.C. attorney Jonathan Yarowsky to help him prepare for Congress’s questioning.
But Yarowsky is no ordinary beltway lawyer.
Yarowsky offered advice to Bill Clinton during his impeachment hearings.
This led many Americans to wonder if working for – all supporting the Clintons – was a prerequisite to gaining access to Mueller’s professional inner circle.
Mueller’s top deputy Andrew Weissman famously attended Hillary Clinton’s 2016 election night victory party.
And Mueller prosecutor Jeannie Rhee performed legal work for the Clinton Foundation.
Finally, disgraced FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page worked on the Russian investigation for months despite the fact they hated Trump and even referred to the investigation as an “insurance policy” against Trump winning the election.
A top former Clinton lawyer working with Mueller backed up Rush Limbaugh’s assertion that Democrats were back channel working with Mueller to prepare answers that Democrats can say went beyond Mueller’s final report and were new bombshells.
On recent broadcast Limbaugh stated:
I think what’s gonna happen here — and because word that I have gotten — apparently Mueller and his staff have already been meeting with Democrats, the chairmen and their staffs, and I think the plan, the intention is — you know, Mueller’s made it clear that he’s not gonna go beyond the report. And a lot of people have said, “Rush, you don’t have anything to worry about here. Mueller has said he’s not gonna go beyond the report.”
I think you’re being set up with that. I think we’re all being set up. I think what they are doing is conjuring a sentence or a line here that Mueller can utter that the media can then take sort of like a pull quote and portray it as something new. I mean, since truth is out the window and since fact has no place here — I mean, there was no collusion.
The fake news media and Democrats have anticipated Mueller’s testimony for months.
And they will leave nothing to chance.
That’s why one of Bill Clinton’s top legal confidants is working with Mueller – serving in a role conservatives believe is a back channel for the Democrats – to rehearse answers that will inflict the greatest political damage on President Trump.
That is the only goal of Mueller’s testimony.
