Poor Justice Kavanaugh.
He got the short end of the stick last year when it came to being the target of fake news.
And now Brett Kavanaugh will be furious when he learns what award CNN was just given.
But first you need to know a few things about CNN.
Even though CNN is President Trump’s favorite whipping post when he complains about the “fake news media,” they still believe they have the journalistic chops to be considered a legitimate news source.
And despite their ratings falling dramatically over the past year (Forbes reported they’re down 26% in viewership when compared to last year), CNN is doubling down on their tactics.
What does this say?
The first is the American public at large knows just how awful CNN really is and they’re using the power of choice to push them off a proverbial cliff.
The second is it says that the liberal media is one grand echo chamber where no form of truth exists and lies are celebrated.
And that’s exactly why they won an award at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
Well, they won an honorable mention for their role in covering the Kavanaugh hearing.
Apparently the rest of the liberal media at the White House Correspondents’ Association loved the fact that CNN helped corroborate smears against Justice Kavanaugh’s character.
But the main moment that helped them snag the honorable mention was when one of CNN’s reporters aided in the abuse heaped on Senator Jeff Flake for suggesting he’d like to move forward with approving Kavanaugh’s nomination.
Rather than remain impartial and unbiased, the CNN reporter hopped into an elevator with other anti-Kavanaugh activists and verbally attacked the Senator.
One activist screamed that she was a survivor of abuse and that Flake hated women, their rights, and wanted them to suffer in silence.
As she continued to rail against him, CNN’s reporter on the scene, Suzanne Malveaux, asked impertinent questions that helped push the narrative that conservatives hate women and are unsympathetic to their rights.
Rather than address the nomination hearings, Malveaux asked Flake if he wanted to respond to the activist’s attacks.
– “Do you want to respond, Senator Flake?”
– “Do you want to respond?”
– “Senator, do you care to respond?”
– “Care to respond?”
– “Senator, do you want to respond to their complaints? Senator, do you care to respond to their complaints?”
– “The American Bar Association says that they should wait for an F.B.I. investigation. Do you not believe that?”
Only one question was related to the hearings. And that was the last one.
And for that, CNN won an award.
Can you imagine what Kavanaugh felt when he learned of this? That the bar of journalistic integrity is so low that a reporter and a protestor can harass a Senator in an elevator and win an award?
The standards for the liberal media are so low already, you have to wonder how they could possibly get any lower.
