New management continues to shake up CNN.
There is a mandate to reign in the network’s liberal bias.
CNN just fired this top star in a move that left Democrats’ blood boiling.
Warner Brothers Discovery CEO David Zaslav tasked new network president Chris Licht with retuning CNN to its more neutral news programming that populated programming in the 1990s when CNN was the gold standard of cable news.
Licht’s first move was firing professional Fox News and Republican Party critics Brian Stelter and canceling Stelter’s Reliable Sources show.
That was just the start of the house cleaning.
Reporting from multiple outlets revealed that CNN talent was given an opportunity to see if they could dial back their liberal partisanship.
Some made the attempt.
Others decided to go out in a blaze of glory.
One such CNN personality was White House correspondent John Harwood.
Harwood is a comic book supervillain version of a liberal partisan pretending to be an objective journalist.
WikiLeaks revealed that after CNBC selected Harwood to moderate a GOP Presidential debate in 2015 Harwood emailed Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta and asked Podesta what questions he should ask Jeb Bush.
Harwood must have known the axe was going to fall and decided to go out in a blaze of glory.
Commenting on Joe Biden’s deranged speech in Philadelphia where Biden declared half of America enemies of the state.
“Of course it was a political speech. We’re in a midterm reelection year,” Harwood said in response to the criticism that Biden’s remarks were overly political and divisive. “The issues that he’s talking about are inherently political, but I think it’s also important to say the core point he made in that political speech about a threat to democracy is true. Now that’s something that’s not easy for us, as journalists, to say.”
Harwood then ranted that journalists had an obligation to side with Democrats because Donald Trump supposedly represented some kind of unique threat to America.
“We’re brought up to believe there’s two different political parties with different points of view and we don’t take sides in honest disagreements between them. But that’s not what we’re talking about. These are not honest disagreements. The Republican Party right now is led by a dishonest demagogue. Many, many Republicans are rallying behind his lies about the 2020 election and other things as well,” Harwood concluded.
24 hours after Harwood’s comments he announced it was his last day at CNN.
“Personal news: today’s my last day at CNN proud of the work thanks to my colleagues I’ve been lucky to serve the best in American media – St. Petersburg Times, WSJ, NYT, the NBC family, CNN look forward to figuring out what’s next,” Harwood posted on social media.
Liberals did not react well to the news as the left believes it should control every institution in America.
Seems clear to me that the C-suites of some news outlets (CNN comes to mind) are responding to the very real threat of a coup by positioning themselves so they’re able to work with whoever is in the White House, no matter how they got there.

There is clearly a major change underway at CNN.
Licht and Zaslav are cleaning out the worst of the liberal partisans in an effort to repair CNN’s tattered reputation.
