Democrats are attempting to destroy Florida governor Ron DeSantis.
They see him coming from a mile away as a potential 2024 presidential candidate.
And Democrats are terrified of DeSantis after one eye-opening announcement.
Ron DeSantis has been the subject of numerous hit pieces by the corporate press.
The Left have tried to smear him as “Rona Ron” for his data-driven approach to handling the COVID crisis.
As a result, Florida—despite having the second most aged population in the country—had COVID death rates comparable to blue states that implemented draconian lockdown measures and destroyed their economies.
And DeSantis made another announcement that has Democrats panicking: Republicans have more registered voters than Democrats in the state.
DeSantis said at the National Conference of State Legislatures, “Today for the first time in the history of Florida we’ve now overtaken Democrats.”
Florida has long been a bellwether in electoral politics, and the Sunshine State appears to be trending redder.
Republicans made significant gains in 2020 despite the constant drumbeat of demonization from the corporate press.
From The Hill:
“The latest Florida voter registration numbers available to the public date back to August and show Democrats outnumbering Republicans by fewer than 24,000 voters. Political parties, however, often have more up-to-date figures at the county level. DeSantis’s announcement would mark a major turning point in the Sunshine State. For years, Democrats have touted a massive voter registration advantage over Republicans. In 2008, when former President Obama carried Florida by about 200,000 votes, there were nearly 700,000 more registered Democrats in the state than Republicans.”
DeSantis also gets credit for cleaning up Florida’s election issues that haunted the 2018 governor and senate races.
The Hill continued:
“But that advantage has eroded over the years as the GOP invested heavily in bulking up its numbers in the state. Democrats, meanwhile, have long complained that the state party lacked a cohesive and long-term voter registration strategy. The GOP’s alleged voter registration advantage is likely to throw the state Democratic Party’s challenges into even starker relief. Democrats have suffered a series of disappointing defeats in Florida in recent cycles, often losing key races by razor-thin margins.”
Florida is one of the main states attracting new residents.
For the first time in history, California had net negative migration out of the state, and other blue states saw similar trends.
Taxpayers are fleeing states like Illinois and New York, and going to Texas, Tennessee, and Florida.
DeSantis has also been out front on several culture war issues including parental rights against the onslaught of critical race theory and other radical Left philosophies.
Joe Biden is the first president to win the general election while losing both Florida and Ohio, but Democrats are highly unlikely to be able to duplicate that anomalous feat in 2024.
With Florida trending red, Democrats need to replicate their victory in George, which is improbable.
Plus Virginia just went red, so they may not even be able to depend on that state.
