Kamala Harris is proving to be a huge problem for the Democratic Party.
And it’s only getting worse.
Democrats called in damage control because of the disaster Kamala Harris made.
Even though Vice President Kamala Harris has only been in office for six months she’s already the most unpopular vice president in fifty years.
The Los Angeles Times on Monday reported that as of July 27, “45% of registered voters had a favorable opinion of Harris and 48% had an unfavorable opinion — a net rating of -3 percentage points, according to a Times average.”
Most of the time this wouldn’t be a big deal, the role of Vice President is normally a nominal role.
However, President Joe Biden is 78 and the majority of voters don’t think that Biden won’t run for reelection in 2024.
There’s even a chance that a medical emergency could force him to step down before his term ends.
John Maa, a Democratic national-finance-committee member, told the Atlantic in April: “I worry that he may not, for health reasons, be able to continue serving until 2024.”
“As a doctor, I do have some concerns about the relentless daily stress and anxiety for someone his age.”
The Democratic Party are desperately trying to find a way to fix Harris’ popularity problem because it could doom them in 2024.
Eight prominent female Democratic strategists reportedly met for dinner in July to discuss the problem.
The dinner was hosted by former Clinton adviser Kiki McLean and included former Obama White House communications director Jennifer Palmieri, former DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile and Obama campaign alum Stephanie Cutter, Axios reported Thursday.
A source told Axios the plan they had come up with was to claim that Harris is being treated unfairly due to her race and gender.
“Many of us lived through the Clinton campaign, and want to help curb some of the gendered dynamics in press coverage that impacted HRC,” the source said. “It was like, ‘we’ve seen this before.’ It’s subtle. But when things aren’t going well for a male politician, we ask very different questions, and they’re not held to account the way a woman leader is.”
However from the beginning Harris has tried to use her race and gender to her advantage.
When facing Biden at a Democratic debate Harris insinuated that Biden supported racist policies in 2019.
“You also worked with them to oppose busing. And you know, there was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools and she was bused to school every day, and that little girl was me. So, I will tell you that on this subject, it cannot be an intellectual debate among Democrats. We have to take it seriously. We have to act swiftly,” Harris stated.
That line of attack didn’t get Harris the primary and Democrats must be desperate to try the tactic again.
