The Democrats have pulled out all the stops in an attempt to scare Amy Coney Barrett off.
But it did not work.
Now, Democrats took the gloves off to attack Amy Coney Barrett. Here is how they lost.
Ever since her nomination by President Trump, the Democrats have been trying to take Amy Coney Barrett down.
They’ve done everything from attack her faith to admonish her for having a large family.
They’ve attempted to convince the world that Ruth Bader Ginsburg would not have wanted this or that her last words were related to politics.
They’ve pulled nearly every trick out of their bag to prevent her from becoming the next SCOTUS simply because they were not the ones in control of nominating her.
Instead of admitting they want more power, the Democrats are continuing to try and take ACB down with their remaining schemes.
The latest attack in a long line up comes from Senator Pat Leahy.
In his accusations, he borrowed some talking points from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), an organization that has been steeped in scandal and produced little more than severely discredited far-leftist junk.
Specifically, he was attempting to demonize Barrett for her brief association with a conservative Christian law firm, Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF).
Leahy noted that in the past, Barrett spoke to the Blackstone Legal Fellowship, which is run by ADF.
ADF has a history in the Supreme Court, achieving 11 victories since 2011 and over the last twenty-five years has played a key role in over 60 Supreme Court victories.
Leahy attempted to use this against Barrett, asking her questions based on speculation.
He asked:
“Are you aware of ADF’s decades-long efforts to recriminalize homosexuality?”
Barrett responded she had not.
Leahy then cited an ADF brief from the case Lawrence v. Texas (2003), which struck down laws against homosexual activity, including sodomy.
He claimed that ADF “celebrated when India restored a law punishing sodomy,” and was “working to criminalize people for loving a person that they are in love with.”
Barrett responded gracefully, proving both statements incorrect at the same time.
“My experience with the Blackstone Legal Fellowship was a wonderful one. It gathers the best and brightest Christian law students from around the country. … Nothing about any of my interactions with anyone involved in the Blackstone program were ever indicative of any kind of discrimination on the basis of anything.”
Additionally, ADF itself responded to Sen. Leahy’s accusations:
“No, [Senator Leahy]. ADF has never supported the passage of any laws criminalizing homosexuality, has never supported and unequivocally condemns the forced sterilization of every person. Contrary to [the] accusation from [Leahy], [ADF] is respected Supreme Court advocate & majority of [the Senate Judiciary Committee]’s members have joined friend of the court briefs in its cases before [the Supreme Court].”
ADF faced such an attack because it was placed on a hate crimes list organized by the SPLC.
However, the SPLC has fallen into complete disarray.
Their criminalization of ADF has been proven incorrect and spiteful on their part again and again.
The Democrats should stop gaining their attacks from a decades old smear factory and start researching their facts.
