Joe Biden’s horrifying evacuation couldn’t have gone any worse.
His lack of planning has resulted in catastrophe.
Donald Trump exposed one huge tactical error of Biden’s that’s a critical mistake.
On July 1st President Joe Biden left from Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.
When Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley was questioned about why people were being evacuated from Karzai International instead of Bagram Milley’s longwinded response boiled down to the fact that they weren’t given enough troops.
“If we were to keep both Bagram and the embassy going,” Milley said, that would require “a significant number of military forces,” so “you had to collapse one or the other.”
Biden wanted to get out of Afghanistan as fast as possible, so fast that he didn’t leave enough troops to properly evacuate.
This has left America scrambling to evacuate from a single runway airport in the middle of a city that cannot be secured.
Former President Donald Trump slammed Biden, saying that abandoning Bagram Airfield was a terrible mistake.
“We should have sent the people out very safely, and we would have had Bagram open. That was always going to be — we should have kept Bagram because Bagram is between China. It has total access to China, Iran, and Afghanistan. And I guess they didn’t realize that they abandoned it,” Trump told Lisa Boothe on her podcast, The Truth with Lisa Boothe.
Tragically on Thursday 11U.S. Marines and a Navy medicwere killed in a suicide attack at Kabul’s airport, 15 more service members were injured in the attack.
“Joe Biden has blood on his hands,” said New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, the third-ranking Republican in the House. “This horrific national security and humanitarian disaster is solely the result of Joe Biden’s weak and incompetent leadership. He is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.”
Other Republicans echoed the sentiment.
“The responsibility for this tragedy rests squarely on the shoulders of Joe Biden. His incompetence means American blood has been shed,” Indiana Rep. Jim Banks, a Navy Reserve veteran who deployed to Afghanistan, said in a statement. “This was avoidable and is unforgivable!”
South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham called on the Biden administration “to reestablish our presence in Bagram as an alternative to the Kabul airport so that we do not leave our fellow citizens and thousands of Afghan allies behind.”
“It is not a capability problem, but a problem of will,” Graham said.
If Biden had given the military enough support to keep Bagram open until evacuations were complete America wouldn’t be in this place.
Biden needs to be held accountable for the stupid choices that resulted in brave American soldiers losing their lives.
