John Bolton may be the Democrats’ newest darling with his conveniently leaked story.
But a word from Trump has put him right back in his place.
Donald Trump knocked John Bolton off his high horse with a single sentence.
It’s amazing to watch the Democrats swing from hating John Bolton to loving him in the space of a single week.
All John Bolton needed to do to get a $2 million dollar book deal was to say bad things about Trump.
His marketing agent was quite clever to leak pages of his new book to the New York Times the day that pre-ordering began on Amazon.
The radical left is happy to line the pockets of a man they hate as long as it helps their impeachment somewhere in the 528 pages.
Now instead of showing a skit where John Bolton is firing up his critics and talking into Trump’s unattached ear, Stephen Colbert is rapping out Bolton’s allegations.
The Atlantic is saying, “Showing genuine moral courage, the former national security adviser appears to have told the truth about Trump.”
Yet before John Bolton published his attack at Trump, the Atlantic portrayed him as a war hawk with a grudge against Trump running headlines like “John Bolton Will Hold This Grudge (against Trump)” and “Bolton Keeps Trying to Goad Iran Into War.”
Trump jumped into the debate and reminded everyone that Bolton is a war hawk who should be taken with a grain or two of salt.
According to The Daily Wire:
Bolton has described communications between the White House and Ukraine before as “cordial” — and reports surfaced Tuesday that if Bolton was called to testify in front of Trump’s Senate impeachment trial that acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney would provide counter-testimony.
“Democrats have said that connection was an abuse of power aimed at boosting Trump’s reelection prospects,” according to Fox News. “Trump’s defense team has said that there was no such connection, and even if there was, Trump had good reason to think the Bidens should have been investigated for corruption and that such a ‘quid pro quo’ is common in U.S. foreign policy.”
Trump is taking a scorched-earth approach to his former employee, it seems, regardless.
“For a guy who couldn’t get approved for the Ambassador to the U.N. years ago, couldn’t get approved for anything since, ‘begged’ me for a non Senate [sic] approved job, which I gave him despite many saying ‘Don’t do it, sir,’ takes the job, mistakenly says ‘Libyan Model’ on T.V.,” Trump raged.
Trump went on to accuse Bolton of “many more mistakes of judgement [sic],” and said Bolton “gets fired because frankly, if I listened to him, we would be in World War Six by now, and goes out and IMMEDIATELY writes a nasty & untrue book.”
“All Classified National Security. Who would do this?” Trump concluded, apparently referring to the National Security Council’s review of Bolton’s book drafts.
Even if what John Bolton says is true it doesn’t justify the Democrats’ impeachment so the whole matter is a tempest in a teapot that’s made Bolton a boatload of cash.
