Donald Trump knows he is facing historic opposition in his quest to win a second term.
President Trump has been under pressure for weeks to shake up his campaign.
And now Donald Trump made one big 2020 change that had all hell breaking loose.
For weeks Donald Trump’s attacked the Democrats for wanting to switch the election to all mail in voting with less than 100 days until the election.
The President blasted Nevada Democrats for passing a law to mail ballots to all registered voters just weeks before the early voting period.
President Trump’s warned that switching to this system just weeks before the election will lead to chaos like in New York where the state went to mail in voting for their June primary and six weeks later still cannot name a winner in a key Congressional primary.
But President Trump defended mail in voting by asking all of his supporters in Florida to vote by mail.
“Whether you call it Vote by Mail or Absentee Voting, in Florida the election system is Safe and Secure, Tried and True. Florida’s Voting system has been cleaned up (we defeated Democrats attempts at change), so in Florida I encourage all to request a Ballot & Vote by Mail!” President Trump wrote on social media.
In a White House press conference President Trump defended asking his supporters to vote by mail in Florida after questioning universal vote by mail in Nevada and other states.
The President explained that Florida Governors like Rick Scott and Ron DeSantis put in place systems that eliminated fraud.
“Florida has got a great Republican governor and it had a great Republican governor, it’s got Ron DeSantis, Rick Scott, two great governors,” Trump stated. “Over a long period of time, they’ve been able to get the absentee ballots done extremely professionally. Florida is different from other states.”
Unlike Nevada and some of the other vote by mail schemes Democrats tried to impose in the final weeks before the election, Florida had been running vote by mail for years which decreased the possibility of chaotic vote counting.
“Florida has been working on this for years and they have a very good system of mail-in and that would be absentee or even beyond absentee,” the President told the assembled press corps. “In the case of Florida, there aren’t too many people who would qualify. They’re so well-run. Florida is a very well-run state, local taxes, low everything, they’ve done a great job. The two governors between the both of them, they’ve got a great system of absentee ballots and even in the case of male in ballots.”
