Liberals finally thought they had Donald Trump boxed in on the coronavirus pandemic.
But President Trump turned the situation around in a moment.
Donald Trump asked one question that destroyed the trap Democrats set.
The Democrats know that the history of the Chinese Coronavirus outbreak makes them look bad.
So they’re trying to change the past.
Joe Biden called Trump’s China travel ban xenophobic when Trump enacted it at the end of January.
However now Joe Biden is criticizing Trump for not making it stronger and allowing 40,000 people into America from China after the ban was enacted.
What Biden didn’t note was the fact that the number of travelers was only 1% of the normal level of travel.
Trump didn’t ban American citizens and permanent residents from entering the country.
The Democrats need the public to believe the story that Donald Trump wasn’t taking the virus seriously early on abut that’s simply not the truth.
The fact that Donald Trump was not recommending states shut down before there were major outbreaks doesn’t mean he wasn’t taking the global pandemic seriously.
There are major economic consequences to shutting the economy down and it should only be done as a last resort.
Donald Trump was trying every possible option to keep America from getting to that point and the Democrats were attacking him every step of the way.
Now they’re trying to blame him for not acting sooner but Donald Trump isn’t having any of it.
When A CBS reporter, Weijia Jiang, tried to blame Trump for not acting sooner Trump asked her how many people had died in America when he stopped travel with China.
According to the Daily Wire:
Jiang launched into an attack on Trump over his comments suggesting that he knew how bad the situation in the U.S. was going to be, and did nothing to prepare America, which is not true.
“Many Americans are saying the exact same thing about you, that you should have warned them that the virus was spreading like wildfire through the month of February instead of holding rallies with thousands of people,” Jiang said. “Why did you wait so long to warn them? And why did you not have social distancing until March 16?”
“You didn’t warn people that it was spreading so quickly!” Jiang later claimed.
Trump pressed Jiang on her loaded question, asking her if she knew relevant information during the time periods that she was attacking Trump over.
“Okay, and you know how many people when I issued the ban?” Trump pressed. “How many cases of the virus were in the United States when I issued the ban? Do you know the number? How many cases were here when I issued the ban?”
Jiang tried to deflect, but Trump continued, “No, no, no. You have to do your research.”“On the 23rd of March, you said you knew this was going to be a pandemic,” Jiang said.
“How many cases were in the United States when I did my ban?” Trump continued. “How many people had died in the United States? … I did a ban where I’m closing up the entire country. How many people died? How many people died in the United States, and yet I closed up the country. And I believe there were no deaths, zero deaths at the time I closed up the country. Nobody was there. And you should say thank you very much for good judgment.”
The Democrats know that Trump showed good judgment in stopping travel from China.
They blame Trump for not doing enough in February but at the time the Democrats were urging people to go out and eat Chinese food and claiming that a bit more funding to the CDC would solve everything.
Trump did everything in his power to delay the Chinese coronavirus from getting to America as long as possible and the Democrats should thank him for it.
