Dr. Anthony Fauci is one of the most controversial members of Donald Trump’s coronavirus task force.
Now Dr. Fauci is really on the hot seat.
And that’s because Dr. Fauci got caught telling one lie that is bad news for Donald Trump.
Dr. Fauci is once again spewing doom and gloom rhetoric and fear mongering over the coronavirus outbreak with apocalyptic predictions of 100,000 or more cases per day and surging death tolls.
After the outbreak in the Northeast and Midwest subsided some sunbelt state are seeing an increase in cases, but because the infected are mostly young the country has not seen anything like the death toll in March and April after mostly Democrat governors signed their citizens’ death warrants by forcing nursing homes to admit coronavirus patients.
In an interview with BBC News Dr. Fauci falsely blamed this new spread of coronavirus on states not imposing strict enough lockdown measures.
“We never got things down to baseline where so many countries in Europe and the UK and other countries did — they closed down to the tune of about 97 percent lockdown,” Fauci told the BBC.
“In the United States, even in the most strict lockdown, only about 50 percent of the country was locked down. That allowed the perpetuation of the outbreak that we never did get under very good control,” Fauci added.
Fauci then blasted states for reopening too soon.
“The problem we’re facing now is, in an attempt to so-called reopen or open the government and get it back to some form of normality, we’re seeing very disturbing spikes in different individual states in the United States, particularly, most recently, Florida, Arizona, Texas and California, some of which are really big states with high populations,” Dr. Fauci concluded.
This was a different tune than Dr. Fauci was singing in late May.
Back then, Dr. Fauci warned that states locking down for too long could lead to adverse health consequences.
We can’t stay locked down for such a considerable period of time that you might do irreparable damage and have unintended consequences including consequences for health,” Fauci told CNBC. “And it’s for that reason why the guidelines are being put forth so that the states and the cities can start to reenter and reopen.”
The only thing consistent about Dr. Fauci is his inconsistency.
Dr. Fauci tailors his message depending on the prevailing political winds at the time, the audience he is talking too – he is more likely to criticize Donald Trump while speaking to a liberal outlet more than Fox News – and his constant moving of the goal posts.
This uneven and disastrous performance by Dr. Fauci is leading many Americans to wonder why the President hasn’t yet fired Dr. Fauci.
