Elizabeth Warren is rapidly emerging as one of the key challengers to front-runner Joe Biden in the Democratic presidential primary.
But there are major warning signs on the horizon for Warren.
And now, Warren’s campaign just got news that they will lose the election if they lose this key state.
Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren has come back from the brink.
After being written off months ago at the earlier part of the Democratic primary cycle, Warren is now working to stage a political comeback for the ages.
And while she still trails former Vice President Joe Biden in most polls for the Democratic nomination, she is gaining ground on the establishment’s choice to take on President Donald Trump in the November 2020 election.
And for her part, Warren’s rebound is partly due to the decline of other candidates that tried to present themselves as the key anti-Biden candidate, including Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, and Pete Buttigieg.
But while Warren is enjoying an increase in donors, polling, and media attention, she still has a long way to go before she can snatch up the Democratic nomination.
But she may never get the chance.
And that’s because there’s one critical primary state that Warren is still badly trailing Biden in.
MSN reports, “The mistakes were minor, but they show the Massachusetts Democrat is struggling to introduce herself to black voters, even after eight months of nonstop campaigning.”
And in the early primary state of South Carolina, winning over black voters is key to carrying the state in the Democratic primary.
“Black voters are key to winning South Carolina, the fourth nominating contest in the Democratic calendar, along with the slew of Southern primaries where African Americans also represent large shares of the vote. Hillary Clinton won the 2016 Democratic presidential primary here because of her support among black voters,” adds MSN.
Yet, Warren is still weak with this massive demographic.
Even though she has been in the race longer than most other candidates, including Joe Biden himself, Warren has little to show for it in the Palmetto State.
And according to new polls from Fox News, Warren is only polling at 8% among black voters in the Democratic primary.
That’s not enough to make her competitive in South Carolina.
And it won’t be enough for her to win the nomination against Joe Biden either.
For Warren, her best hope is that the earlier races in Iowa and New Hampshire will be close enough to not drive out half of the Democratic field within just a matter of weeks.
And if that happens, the field could still be large enough to divide up the black vote in South Carolina, giving her a chance of winning the state in an upset.
If she can win South Carolina, Warren will be almost guaranteed to win the nomination.
But if she doesn’t her chances of defeating Joe Biden could plummet.
