Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter has triggered a political scandal for the ages.
Slowly but surely, Musk is revealing the truth behind the Left’s efforts to silence Donald Trump.
And now, he just demolished the greatest Left-wing lie ever created about Trump.
In just a handful of document releases, Elon Musk managed to do what conservative journalists and politicians have failed to achieve in nearly two years: exonerate Donald Trump from the case that was made to justify banning him off of Twitter.
After re-instating Trump’s account shortly after purchasing the social media platform, Musk has since released a series of documents detailing extreme cases of Left-wing bias by the old regime that ran Twitter into the ground.
And among the crown jewels of all of the previous scandals which “Twitter 1.0” was implicated in was the plot to kick Donald Trump off of the platform and silence his voice from social media.
After January 6, Trump was permanently banned from Twitter. The stated reason was because Trump had “violated community standards” and had engaged in advocating violence among his supporters.
Now, Musk has revealed how even Twitter’s own management knew this wasn’t true, but were determined to come up with any excuse needed to justify banning him from the platform they controlled.
Fox News reports, “The fifth installment of Elon Musk’s “Twitter Files” Monday revealed that staffers believed that tweets written by former President Donald Trump around the events of Jan. 6, 2021, had not actually violated its policies despite the company saying so at the time.”
Bari Weiss of the Free Press was tasked with releasing the information uncovered in the fifth batch of files, writing, “For years, Twitter had resisted calls both internal and external to ban Trump on the grounds that blocking a world leader from the platform or removing their controversial tweets would hide important information that people should be able to see and debate. But after January 6, as @mtaibbi and @shellenbergermd have documented, pressure grew, both inside and outside of Twitter, to ban Trump.”
Twitter wanted the entire world to believe that Trump had become a villain who needed to be removed from every single online platform possible in order to prevent his views from getting out into the general public.
But the truth of the matter is that Twitter violated its own rules in order to justify banning Trump, and had itself opened the door to a brand-new phase of liberal-backed online censorship unlike anything that had been seen in the history of the internet.
“The Trump ban appeared to immediately inspire a crackdown on “medical misinformation,” with Weiss reporting that the next day a renewed push by the tech giant, according to internal communications,” adds Fox News.
Since then, freedom of speech online has been under assault from the Left.
This is precisely why Elon Musk ended up buying Twitter in the first place, in a bid to rescue freedom of speech from the Left’s censorship regime.
And now, it’s clear that a massive pushback against the Left’s domination of all institutions – especially through Big Tech – is rapidly coming to an end.
