One of the big stories heading into the Republican National Convention revolved around how the fake news media would cover the event.
President Trump and his supporters expected fake news outlets like CNN to censor the event, but they were not prepared for what was about to happen.
And Fox News did one thing to Donald Trump that took Sean Hannity by surprise.
When day one of the Republican National Convention kicked off at 8:30PM on Monday viewers tuned in to Fox News to watch the proceedings.
But they found a surprise.
Fox News was not airing the convention uninterrupted.
Former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale complained that he had to watch fake news CNN to see the speeches,
“Can’t believe I have to watch the convention on @CNN. Unbelievable. @FoxNews,” Parscale tweeted.
Matters only got worse in the 9PM hour.
Sean Hannity updated viewers that President Trump was just ten minutes away from addressing the nation from the White House.
“We just received a 10-minute warning that the president of the United States, he will be making remarks and an appearance and be speaking. When that happens, we will bring it to you. We’ll also bring you a lot of the convention, we’ll get to that in mere moments,” Hannity stated. “The mob, the media, they won’t be covering large parts of the RNC that we’ll be showing.”
But Fox News was not airing the convention when Hannity spoke.
Even Donald Trump was annoyed with Fox News Channel’s coverage of the convention.
The next day the President needled Fox News by congratulating CNN for airing the “vast majority” of the proceedings.
“Very appreciative that @CNN covered the vast majority of the Republican Convention last night. That was really good for CNN, while at the same time being good for our Country. Thank you!” President Trump posted on social media.
Other conservatives were not happy with Fox’s coverage.
Online personality Mark Dice noted that Fox News did not air the emotional speech from Cuban-American businessman Maximo Alvarez who fought back tears as he described his pride in becoming an American citizen as well as warning the nation about the Democrats dangerous embrace of socialism.
“Fox News is only cable network not airing the RNC speech of a business man who fled Cuba years ago and is warning against the dangers of Communism and the Democrat Party embracing it,” Dice wrote.
Heading into the convention Trump supporters expected ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC and fake news CNN to censor the Republican National Convention and deny President Trump and his supporters their chance to make their case to the American public.
But no one expected the worst offender would be Fox News.
