Kamala Harris’ tenure as Vice President continues to trouble many Democrats.
Harris’ political skills and acumen come into question on a dailybasis.
And now Fox News exposed the one-way Kamala Harris’ big speech blew up in Democrats’ faces.
Joe Biden put Kamala Harris in charge of overseeing the Democrats’ push to pass legislation that would place the federal government in charge of voting procedures in every state in the union.
Republicans blast that legislation as a federal power grab that would impose mailing unsolicited ballots to every voter in America, allowing ballot harvesting schemes, and reducing the ability of states to enforce voter ID laws.
Democrats do not have the votes to eliminate the legislative filibuster so to pressure reluctant Senators, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris amped up their attacks on Republican state legislatures passing election integrity bills.
Harris tore into Republicans claiming Democrats that fled Texas in a private plane paid for by donors to block legislation adding voter ID laws to mail in ballots, and that pulled back some of the emergency voting measures states imposed because of the pandemic was the equivalent of the 1965 “Bloody Sunday” march across Selma, Alabama’s Edmund Pettus Bridge where police officers beat 600 protestors marching for the end to Jim Crow voting laws.
“They took bold, courageous action in line with the legacy of Frederick Douglass, to the legacy that involves women who marched down Pennsylvania Avenue, and all those folks who shed blood on the bridge in 1965 to pass the Voting Rights Act.” Harris stated.
The “Bloody Sunday” march was one of the ugliest moments in American history, but it was also a turning point which helped bring an end to Jim Crow.
Fox News host Harris Faulkner expressed her disgust with Harris comparing privileged lawmakers flying on a private plane to civil rights marchers that braved violence.
Faulkner explained she hoped Harris came to her senses and walked back her remarks.
“These are things that we know well as Americans. Not as white, not as black, just as Americans. It is part of our shared American history,” Faulkner stated. “I want Kamala Harris as vice president to say something about the words that she said. I want her to recognize that people are not being beaten in the streets right now, that we are not at the same place that we were and unless we are very careful, we could go to new places we don’t want to be.”
Faulkner called attention to one of the most criticized actions of the Texas Democrats – posting a picture of them with cases of Miller Lite – to highlight what she saw as the absurdity of Harris’ remarks.
“She’s calling these people on a private plane, you know I love me some Miller Lite, but they are not paying for any of it.” Faulkner added.
Faulkner laced into the Texas Democrats for shirking their duty to represent their constituents by fleeing to Washington, D.C. with the hopes of indefinitely waiting out Texas Republicans.
“They will not get with these privileged lawmakers are getting on their way to and from D.C. skirting what are their responsibilities.” Faulkner added.
Faulkner concluded her remarks by again demanding Kamala Harris apologize for her comparing Texas Democrats that fled the state of a booze-soaked plane to civil rights marchers that put their health and lives on the line to march for the right to vote.
“I think that the vice president needs to come back at this,” Faulkner concluded.
