Liberals want Tucker Carlson canceled.
Fox News stands in the way of that goal.
And Fox News had one response to canceling Tucker Carlson that no one saw coming.
The left’s latest attempt to smear and cancel Carlson revolves around Carlson’s opposition to war with Russia over Ukraine.
On a recent broadcast Carlson asked why it was considered loyal to support war with Russia if Russia invades Ukraine.
“Why is it disloyal to side with Russia but loyal to side with Ukraine? They’re both foreign countries that don’t care anything about the United States. Kind of strange,” Carlson wondered.
That comment enraged MSNBC’s Never Trump host Nicolle Wallace.
Wallace falsely claimed Hungarian President Viktor Orban was a dictator to level the baseless allegation that Tucker Carlson supported authoritarians.
“It’s not the first time Tucker Carlson has openly embraced dictators,” Wallace stated. “He’s been vocal in his support for Hungarian leader Viktor Orban. Last week, he announced he’ll be broadcasting from that country for the second time in a year.”
Wallace also accused Carlson of undermining U.S. armed forces readiness and resolve because every base airs Fox News and troops may have seen his comments.
“Fox News is played on just about every military base, and yesterday, 8,500 U.S. troops were put on high alert. So what is again, what is the acknowledgment that he’s doing grave harm to American national security I guess cohesion or sort of a purpose of the United States national security doctrine over decades to Democrats and Republicans to stand with democracies against autocracies?” Wallace ranted.
Guest Donny Deutsch responded by attacking Carlson’s authenticity.
Deutsch smeared Carlson as a “ratings whore” and claimed – without citing any evidence – that Carlson does not believe a word he is saying on TV.
“He’s a ratings whore. That’s it. It’s a game. Let’s stop saying – performance art. That’s what it is. By the same way, last week, he said that doing, making kids wear masks in schools is no different than experiments the Nazis did on the Jews, the medical experiments, and it’s the same kind of mandate situation. He’s a ratings whore. That’s what this is. Period,” Deutsch fumed.
Fox News actually responded to this attack in Carlson by Deutsch in a rare statement.
The Fox statement ridiculed Deutsch for his failed career as a cable news talk show host.
“Donny Deutsch’s descent into irrelevance along with having all of his shows cancelled due to abysmal ratings clearly hasn’t provoked any level of self awareness,” Fox’s statement read.
Fox does not usually issue statements every time a leftwing critic on another cable network attacks Tucker Carlson.
But Deutsch’s comments were so vitriolic and false that Fox felt the need to publicly defend Carlson.
