Hillary Clinton spent years dodging investigators and legal jeopardy.
It looked like her time was about to run out.
And then Hillary Clinton couldn’t believe what happened after she found herself involved in this court case.
Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard ran for President in 2020 as a fierce critic of Hillary Clinton and her globalist foreign policy.
Gabbarrd’s candidacy infuriated Clinton because Clinton still smarts over the fact that some on the left did not unite behind her candidacy.
Clinton’s frustrations came out in a podcast interview last year where Clinton smeared Gabbard as a Russian sleeper agent.
“I think they’ve got their eye on somebody who’s currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate,” Clinton stated. “She’s the favorite of the Russians.”
Although Clinton did not name Gabbard it was clear who she was talking about.
Gabbard – who was still in the Presidential race – announced she was suing Hillary Clinton.
But fast-forward to May 2020 and Gabbard’s attorney Dan Terzian filed a motion in federal court dismissing the lawsuit.
“While they remain certain of the action’s legal merit, they are just as certain that this new COVID and post-COVID world require them to focus their time and attention on other priorities, including defeating Donald Trump in 2020, rather than righting the wrongs here,” Terzian wrote.
Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill cheered Gabbard dismissing the lawsuit.
“This was a publicity stunt through and through, and this filing makes that clear.” Merrill boasted.
Tulsi Gabbard wants a future in Democrat primary politics.
That’s why she dropped this lawsuit.
It’s also why Gabbard – who emerged as a fierce critic of the Obama-Biden administration’s disastrous foreign policy – turned around and endorsed Biden after ending her Presidential campaign in March.
When Gabbard was running for President many Democrats feared she would eventually run as the Green Party candidate in 2020.
Hillary Clinton accused 2016 Green Party candidate Jill Stein of being a Russian asset.
“That’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she might not, because she’s also a Russian asset,” Clinton ranted. “Yes, she’s a Russian asset, I mean, totally. They know they can’t win without a third-party candidate.”
Gabbard was a Bernie Sanders supporter in 2016 and resigned as Vice Chair of the Democrat National Committee because of the conflict her support for Sanders caused with the party establishment that lined up behind Hillary Clinton.
Clinton and Gabbard clearly do not like one another.
Many believe that Gabbard did not vote for Clinton in 2016.
But the reality of party politics is Gabbard knows she cannot run for office in the future if she is seen at war with the Democrat Party.
Gabbard endorsing Biden and withdrawing her suit against Clinton disappointed Americans that thought Gabbard would grow to be a thorn in the side of the Democrat Party elite.
