CNN is where Democrats can go for a friendly interview when they are under fire.
That got turned on its head.
And it’s because Ilhan Omar confessed something about Democrats that left a CNN host stunned.
Ilhan Omar appeared on former Democrat Party political operative Jake Tapper’s CNN show where Tapper conducted a friendly interview about Omar’s part anti-Semitic comments.
Instead of apologizing for comparing Israel to Hamas or the Taliban Omar doubled down.
“I don’t. I think it’s really important to think back to the point that I was trying to make. Obviously, I was addressing Secretary of State Blinken. The cases are put together in front of the ICC. [The] ICC has been investigating. I know that some of my colleagues don’t lend legitimacy to the ICC, but I tend to think that people around the world who have experienced injustice need to be able to have a place where they can go. And as a country that helped found the ICC and supported it, I think that it is really important for us to continue to find ways in which people can find justice around the world.” Omar began.
Tapper gently questioned Omar about what her fellow Jewish Democrats thought of Omar’s comments and Omar instead claimed they were the bigots who did not fight for “justice” Omar began.
“I have welcomed any time my colleagues have asked to have a conversation to learn from them, for them to learn from me. I think it’s really important for these members to realize that they haven’t been partners in justice. They haven’t been equally engaging in seeking justice around the world.” Omar added.
Tapper tried one more time and Omar wouldn’t bite, and instead continued to claim that she was the real victim and it was Jewish Democrats speaking out against her that were racists trafficking in “Islamophobic tropes.”
“And I hear that. I have obviously clarified and apologized when I have felt that my words have offended. And it’s really important, right? As I’ve explained to my colleagues, they have engaged in Islamophobic tropes. I have yet to receive an apology. I think when we are engaging in a space where we don’t know how our language will be received, it is important for us to be open-minded, and I think I have always been someone who is humbled, someone who understands how words can be harmful and hurtful to people, and I’ve always listened and learned and behaved accordingly and showed up with compassion and care.” Omar continued.
Omar gets away with this because Nancy Pelosi and her allies refuse to hold her accountable.
Whenever a Republican says something stupid or off message there is an immediate cry to strip them of their committee assignments and expel them from Congress.
But since Pelosi fears the “Squads” popularity with the Democrat Party base Pelosi backs down from any confrontation that would arise from sanctioning Omar for her bigotry.
