Black Lives Matter activists are gaining power across America as the anti-police protests gathered momentum.
Democrats in Congress latched on to the movement in hopes of building a tsunami of anger in the country towards Donald Trump.
And now Ilhan Omar used four words to describe the police that will leave you speechless.
The signature policy proposal of the Black Lives Matter movement is a call to defund the police.
Polls show over 60 percent of Americans opposed defunding the police with one survey finding just 16 percent supports this radical proposal.
But defunding the police is picking up steam in the Democrat Party grassroots.
Ilhan Omar is one of the Democrat Party stars that backs the defund the police movement.
Omar represents Minneapolis which served as ground zero for the Black Lives Matter riots that erupted after the murder of George Floyd.
The Minneapolis City Council recently unanimously passed a resolution announcing its intention to dismantle its police department.
Omar celebrated this development in an interview on fake news CNN.
“A new way forward can’t be put in place if we have a department that is having a crisis of credibility, if we have a department that’s led by a chief who’s suited for racism, if we have a department that hasn’t solved homicide. Half of the homicides in Minneapolis Police Department go unsolved,” Omar stated.
But Omar went even further in smearing the police.
Omar claimed reform was not possible and dismantling the Minneapolis police department was the only solution because policing is “rotten to the root.”
“There have been cases where they have destroyed rape kits. And so you can’t really reform a department that is rotten to the root. What you can do is rebuild. And so this is our opportunity, you know, as a city, to come together, have the conversation of what public safety looks like, who enforces the most dangerous crimes that take place in our community,” Omar added.
Omar tried to explain what would take the place of the police after Minneapolis disbanded its police force.
Her answer did not reassure viewers.
“What we are saying is, the current infrastructure that exists as policing in our city should not exist anymore. And we can’t go about creating a different process with the same infrastructure in place. And so dismantling it, and then looking at what funding priorities should look like as we reimagine a new way forward is what needs to happen,” Omar explained.
Omar’s answer also did not reassure the residents of Minneapolis who are also her constituents.
In the last week 18.7 percent of all real estate listings in Minneapolis were put up for sale.
Residents are fleeing Minneapolis because they know with no police force the rioters that burnt the city and looted its businesses will control the streets.
