Rep. Omar wants to dismantle the economic systems of oppression in this country.
But she wouldn’t want anyone to call her out on her own abuse of money.
Ilhan Omar’s career was killed when one shady payment was exposed.
The love life of Ilhan Omar is so complicated that it seems like something out of a soap opera.
The congresswoman has tried to hush rumors that she married her brother and public records show that she lived with her first husband and second husband together.
Last fall she denied rumors that she was having an affair with her political contractor Tim Mynett.
She later went on to marry Mynett quietly just months later.
She has paid her husband’s firm $878,930.65 from her campaign fund since 2018.
“The payments between the Minneapolis Democratic congresswoman and Tim Mynett prompted at least one ethics complaint in 2019 after The Post first revealed allegations — made by Mynett’s then-wife in her divorce filing — that Omar was having an affair with the member of her political consulting team, who was at the time married to another woman. Omar was married to her second husband at the time.” The New York Post reported.
Omar didn’t stop paying Mynett after she married him. His consulting firm was paid $189,000 in March alone.
This week Omar said that she wants to dismantle economic and political systems that “prioritize profit without considering who is profiting.”
“As long as our economy and political systems prioritize profit without considering who is profiting, who is being shut out, we will perpetuate this inequality. So we cannot stop at the criminal justice system. We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it.” Omar said speaking in her home state of Minnesota.
Instead of trying to remake the entire American economy Rep. Omar should start spending her own money in a more ethical manner.
The FEC does allow lawmakers to hire members of their family to work on campaigns but many would love to have the rules changed.
“It should not be allowed,” said Richard W. Painter, who served as chief ethics lawyer in the George W. Bush White House. “I think it’s a horrible idea to allow it, given the amount of money that goes into these campaigns from special interests.”
Ilhan Omar, who came to America as a refugee from war torn Somalia, is profiting greatly from the American system.
If America was a racist, biased, xenophobic and oppressive country she would not be where she is today, one of the most visible members of Congress. Yet Omar wants to tear apart the country that elected her into one of the highest offices in the land.
