Democrats suppress any objections to their leftist insanity.
It’s scary how far Joe Biden will go to force LGBT ideology onto children.
So when parents started protesting, he intimidated them into silence.
Attorney General Merrick Garland directed the FBI to “use its authority” on parents protesting at school board meetings in order to intimidate them into silence said Tyson Langhofer, senior counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), while testifying at a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing last Thursday.
Langhofer said the order “unquestionably chilled parents into questioning their rights.”
“AG Garland claimed that this was focused exclusively on violent acts, but his own memorandum sweeps much broader and unquestionably chilled parents in exercising their rights,” Langhofer said.
“Even though the public outcry was severe, the administration would not resend the memorandum. After intimidating parents in silence, then the administration moved to codify the very policies that they objected to by proposing to redefine sex and Title IX to include sex orientation, gender identity,” he added.
“And it expressly blesses policies that would require schools to engage in social transitions for students, even while hiding this from parents. ADF successfully represented a teacher in Kansas challenging such a policy, and ADF is currently representing parents in Wisconsin. In that case, the school wasn’t just keeping social transitions a secret, they were insisting on doing it over the objection of the parents.”
House Republicans found Garland had no legitimate basis for the order he issued.
The FBI opened 25 “guardian assessments” into “school board threats.”
However, these “assessments” were opened on the flimsiest of pretexts – one mother was investigated merely because she was a gun owner and member of a “right-wing mom’s group,” while one father was investigated because he “rails against the government.”
“The Biden administration’s actions are both chilling and outright curtailing parent’s most fundamental constitutional rights,” Langhofer said.
“I urge this subcommittee to use all means at its disposal to counter this executive overreach.”
None of the investigations resulted in federal charges or arrests according to the report.
“We have known all along that the timeline at issue – a letter to the President followed by an Attorney General memorandum within days –indicated that the underlying premise for the memorandum was as fake as the Biden Administration’s commitment to the equal application of the law,” Gene Hamilton, the legal vice president and general counsel of America First, said in a press release.
“The report issued by the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government and the House Judiciary Committee this week confirms our assertions about the Attorney General’s memorandum. And now, the records we are revealing today further show that the memo blindsided the FBI. Stay tuned for more details as we continue our vital work.”
