President Biden has made the news again.
But not for the reason he hoped.
Now, Joe Biden is facing a huge backlash for this catastrophe at the border.
In the few weeks that he has been President, Joe Biden has made some hugely controversial decisions.
The most controversial decision being his new laws that have changed America into a “sanctuary country” for illegal immigrants.
According to the acting director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) unit, Tae Johnson, President Biden has instructed agents not to pursue illegal aliens for arrest and deportation until they have been convicted of aggravated felonies against Americans — crimes such as rape, murder, child pornography, sexual abuse of a minor, trafficking firearms, and theft.
As a direct result of these new orders, ICE detention centers have hit a new “all-time low.”
The Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University (TRAC) recently found that ICE held just 13,529 illegal aliens in detention at the end of February – the lowest numbers they have ever reported.
Breitbart News reports the statistics of the deportation situation:
“Nearly all illegal aliens in ICE detention last month were in adult facilities, 13,190, while less than 340 were being held in facilities meant for family units. More than 4,700 of the illegal aliens in ICE detention are facing expedited removal from the United States while about 6,600 have a notice to appear before an immigration judge.
Similarly, the total number of illegal aliens arrested by ICE and booked into custody dropped to just 1,970 in February. This represents a 62 percent drop in ICE arrests since January when former President Trump was in office until the end of the month.
As part of Biden’s agenda, top Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials issued guidelines to ICE agents that prevent them from arresting or deporting illegal aliens who are not recently convicted aggravated felons, known gang members, or terrorists.”
While this news sounds good on the surface, the reality is much more grim than we previously thought.
These new “sanctuary” laws have gutted ICE entirely, eliminating their ability to carry out 9 out of 10 deportations of already convicted criminals.
Now, local law enforcement is being forced to release these criminals back into their communities.
This decision comes as a shock to many and a frustration to all.
It appears as if President Biden did not consider the ramifications of these new laws and instead focused on the public’s opinion of him once these new laws were released.
The American justice system is broken in many ways, but now is the time to focus on protecting American citizens, not those who will cause more harm to already struggling communities.
Arizona and Montana Attorneys General Mark Brnovich and Austin Knudsen are currently suing the Biden administration’s guidelines, arguing that the policies are a violation of federal immigration law.
